I think it might be L.A. as well. I think Decon Jones is a really strong candidate for L.A. on the Football Side. They are weakest in Baseball IMO. They have had some great players over the years but arguably, the best player in the History of the Dodgers organization is Jackie Robinson, who would be a very, very strong candidate but he really played in Brooklyn (Dodgers didn't move to L.A. until 1957 and Robinson retired in 56) so I don't think you can use him. I think it would have to be Sandy Koufax, Gil Hodges or Duke Snyder, all HOF players in their own rights.

So I guess I would go:

NFL - Decon Jones
NBA - Kareem Adbul Jabbar
MLB - Gil Hodges
NHL - Wayne Gretsky

As an aside, if Kershaw continues to pitch like he's pitched this year, for a few more seasons it could be game over.

I would probably put Magic ahead of Jablunt

I was listening to ESPN this morning and they were discussing this. Which City, down through their respective histories, has the best Quartet of players in each of the 4 major sports? They were saying that they thought it might be Boston but I was curious to see what the board thought about this?

Thoughts?

None I can think of in West Virginia. LOL

I think Dallas is *extremely* weak in this competition. We are loaded in football but pickings are SO slim elsewhere. Modano was a very good hockey player but nobody would confuse him for a top what, 50 player of all time? We have only one guy - Dirk - in basketball. Dirk is a great player but a list of one for basketball. Baseball - you'd have to borrow Nolan from Houston, if Pudge is the best we have then drek, he was a good catcher but man I can name 10 catchers considered superior to him off the top of my head. Heck, honestly the best Ranger of all time is probably Adrian Beltre, and I bet I'm the only one to mention him here...

Also surprisingly weak - New York. Absolutely crushing in baseball, but get to other sports and it dries up QUICK.

Dallas has had four teams that are relevant at various times and all have produced some of the game's best.

Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, Rangers make for a dynamic pro slate.

Pudge is found on nearly every top ten list for catchers there is; however, he would be far down on a list of great players regardless of position. You would be the only one to mention Beltre because he has only played four seasons with Texas out of his 17 years in MLB. Four good years, but not nearly enough to be the best Ranger of all time. Pudge or Juan Gonzalez(2 time MVP) probably are the best. That is good representation, but not nearly as good as other major cities.
