First of all key injuries. Our key OL who are njury prone could definitely impact our season. It’s not a matter of if with Tyron but when. Steele and Martin both have injury history as well. Any combinations there could cause havoc to our offense.

Next concern is our running game . We don’t know if Pollard can carry the load for 17 games. And or if we have suitable support in the event he’s isn’t able to carry the load. We actually look somewhat similar to 2015 when we had RB by Committee.

TE is also a concern with no one who’s started in the NFL. Ferguson looks capable of contributing but that doesn’t necessarily translate to a full time starting role . We have potential backups who could add support but I’d argue it’s a position with more questions or concerns than answers and solidity until further notice .

Our strength on offense appears to be our receiving corps. The additions we made along with our returning starting WR’s, as long as we can protect our QB establish any kind of running game , assuming our QB can stay healthy appears to be more than capable . And it might have to carry the offense in the event our other concerns falling short or short handed .

Defensively not as many injury concerns assuming Parsons can stay healthy. The additions we made in draft at. DT and in FA in secondary this could be our best defense in decades . Much cause for excitement defensively. It could be why we finally take the next step. But we’ll still need the balance offensively which is my greater concern.

For me the biggest thing that could go wrong is this team losing its edge- it’s determination and focus. They have enough talent to compete for the NFC championship but talent alone is never enough. Will this team be hungry enough, mentally and physically tough enough?

But if you are considering what can go wrong, if we lose one of our top three of Lamb, Cooks and Gallup, then we're relying on receivers who have proven less than Noah Brown had.

Any injury, or injuries, that makes the team one dimensional (either on offense or on defense) could end the season earlier than most of us hope. Like injuries to Parsons or Diggs on D, or young Smith or Pollard on O.

And lack of good luck. Gotta be in position to make your own good luck.

Fans tend to get caught up in additions - "we added this guy, and that guy, we're better" - as if other teams don't also make moves trying to improve their rosters.

Injuries can derail any team - the Cowboys are not unique. How far are the Chiefs going to go if Mahomes tears his ACL? Setting such what-ifs aside, what are the Cowboys questions?

Some celebrated Kellen Moore's departure, but there's no guarantee that McCarthy/Schottenheimer will be an improvement. What if they're worse? Will Dak bounce back? He could, but there's no guarantee. It feels like the bigger questions are all on offense, but who will be the kicker? The wheels fell off Maher late, but don't pretend he wasn't solid for most of the season. Will his replacement be better, or even his equal? We'll see...

Spot on. At the end of the day wining in the regular season to get to the playoffs is great in itself, but it's up to these individual players to turn it up a notch when there. Should there be any doubts in there minds is the recipe for losing. I still believe that this team is destine for greatness. The coaches concern me however. For the life of me I can't understand how you have the chance at wining the SB and come out flat and uninspired. Hoping for the best Cowboy nation as usual.
GO BOYS!!!!

Are you kidding ? ... Is this thread more of a trick pop quiz ?

Injuries !!

" Dallas Cowboys' QB Dak Prescott would suffer one of the worst injuries during Week 5 of the 2020 NFL Season against the New York Giants. "
Totally snapped in half broken ankle !

Even to this day, Dak's overall mobility has not been the same sense.
His runs now are more like lumbering than athletically ...

How about an unexpected defeat (e.g Week 4 Pats) and then back to back defeats @ 49ers and @ Chargers. (Sorry to be pessimistic!) Team then under pressure and struggles to recover.

Injury to CeeDee Lamb would hurt the most, imo.

Offensive line injuries.

Injury to Parsons or Diggs.

Bob I agree. Posted this before. At some point the folks in the locker room have seeds of doubt in their minds about 4s ability in the playoffs. Can't keep doing and saying the same things year in and out. Something must change. These are the changes. Cooks, pollard off injury has to carry a load, potential upgrade at CB, New OC who was already the HC, DT 1st rounder, looking for a TE to step up, looking for LSU LB and Sam to make a jump.

I think most of these moves from an org standpoint make sense. The biggest one constant remains. 4. Is he tough enough mentally to win playoff games and win reg season big games so Dallas has a bye?

Right.. they should be hungry enough with a record futility mark in the playoffs hanging over our franchise . The bigger question is will they handle that pressure playing their best ball on the bigger stages .

Understood but we are much deeper in our receiving corps and I believe would be in a better situation to overcome injuries compared to weaker areas on offense .

You know. Entirely forgot to mention our kicking game . No doubt a big question mark. Thanks

If Dak goes down we are screwed. I’m not a huge Dak fan at this point, but we seem to refuse to solidify the backup position. Rush isn’t the answer.
Yea, losing starting QB is basically a season over for most teams . We illustrated last year we can sustain a few games if our defense is balling but if we lost our QB for the season , it’s probably over as far as making any deep runs .
