What could make the Jones family sell?

Some good anti Jerry posts floating around which got me thinking about the scene in Dumb and Dumber when Jim Carrey is getting rejected by Lauren Holly and uttered that often used line “…so your saying there’s a chance….”

Anyhow, it a sad state so might as well dream a bit. What could make the Jones family sell? In my opinion there is a non-zero chance one or more of these things might happen.

1. Scandal they can’t run from
2. Jerry leaves this earth and Stevie is not all in
3. Houston wins a Super Bowl and the league gets annoyed with Jerry and puts a team in San Antonio
4. Private Equity goes “full ******” and pays $15B for the team
5. More circling the drain which forces a major fan and alumni backlash
6. Texas Oil money comes knocking and convinces Jerry to sell
7. Team operating revenue takes a dirt nap and Jerry grabs the remaining value while he can
8. Father and son ego war

Anyhow I think any of these are viable. So what I am saying is there’s always a chance.

Probably as soon as someone inherits the team and decides it's too much work - at least then we might get a legitimate GM. That's assuming though they don't hire their friend.

Just stop insisting that you are the best people to run football ops. I’m sure it’s been more than proven that they aren’t any good at it.

Jerry’s ego will never allow that to happen, plus they both think a lot of themselves. Let’s see what 3-4 losing seasons in a row brings.

Only hope of them selling the team, is that Jerry pops his clogs and a private equity firm buy them out.
I know there some seriously rich people at the moment who have made their fortunes from tech and social media etc, but I don’t see an individual buying us out and it would most likely be a group of people who would buy the team.
But be careful what you ask for, because as a Chelsea fan, that’s exactly what happened to them and it’s not exactly working out like it should have.

In their defense their players for the most part seem like good dudes. It’s Jerry running around with the illegitimate kids and party bosses. Who knows what ownership was like in the 70s….probably not much different.
