What could we get for Romo?

In 1989...Jerry and Jimmy made the most improbable trade in NFL history trading Herschel Walker for an unprecedented 11 players and picks combined...basically setting the roster for Championships to come.

There is always a team in the NFL looking for that one player to put them over the top and willing to risk it all like we have the last few years with some of our gambles like on TO & Roy E Williams.

Is this one player possibly more popular than the Dallas Cowboys themselves? could our fan base endure and is the fan base what we are most concerned with?

I'd like to think that noone should keep us from winning titles.

NFL draft next year may have for the 1st time in NFL history 3 Heisman QB's coming out not to mention the richest class at this position since 1983.

Just a thought?

Nothing because of the cap Romo is untradable right now.
How much would we lose in cap room and why does the cap make him untradeable?
Perhaps we can trade him & Roy...or is this more cap issues?
Has Jerry mortgaged our future?

To truly fix this team, we need to fix just a few other small issues like fixing our oline and their protection scheme, getting some repellent for that injury bug that plagues our RBs, trading away every single WR we have for anyone who can play the game, firing the head coach and OC and bring in a real head coach who can hire his own staff, trade Newman for someone who can play consistant, replace Hamlin with someone who will not bite on every double move, and hopefully new DC that can be more creative and actually disguise our defenses so opponents do not know where the rush is coming from.

Injuries are part of the NFL. So we need to basically rebuild the team except the QB?
Romo is not the problem?
QB in the NFL is not the most critical position?

I'm starting to question this Romo friendly approach...

OK, lets trade Romo............maybe we can get a 3rd or 4th round pick, and a bag of chips and a pound of coffee.

No let's get to your real issue.........which one of these "Heisman winning" QBs coming out do you suppose we draft? I presume that all these threads you are starting are about a pet cat you have, probably Tebow.

The only college QB I see right now, that is NFL quality is Snead, and even he will take a couple of years to learn the NFL game.

If that is all we can get for Romo...then he is not the franchise QB many feel he is.

I'm not a Tebow fan. Sam or Cody...plus who else to sell tickets for Jethro with the huge fan base in Dallas of UT & OU. I like Snead also since he has resurrected a MISS team like Eli did.

Let's see...a heisman & #1 overall pick have done what for us in our history. Only one undrafted QB in Super Bowl era has won SB...Kurt Warner.
I don't like those odds.

Yeah, we can play the old cliche' about how injuries are part of the NFL blah blah blah, so then should not matter if they all go down injured right? They may be a part of the NFL, but they still affect the game and blame the coaching staff/GM for not getting better quality backups.

No, you are just focused on QB as if he is the only guy playing.
Qb being most critical position? you are making it one if it is not already. Yeah, most critical position yes, but usually it takes a team approach to become a champion, and right now this is a bunch of individuals playing on a team.

This "Romo friendly" saying is a media nugget that works for you and your agenda you present, so you use it. I will admit, it sounded good...

Did Favre always plays top of his game? Did any of the top QBs always play his best even while the rest of the team and coaching staff folds?

I am not against drafting a QB like the guys you mention. I never am. So if they do, I would be cool with it. I would also like to see top WR come in here.

I do not see the significance of him being undrafted at this point in time.

If we don't have the coaches to help out Romo --we sure as heck don't need a rookie --He would be destroyed in 6 games

Agreed. Lets get Shannahan and draft Jake "Da Snake" Locker.

And not a one of them IMO is gonna be a decent NFL starter. One of them isnt even a legit QB prospect.

Of course Favre didn't...neither did Roger , Aikman...all the great ones...but once you win Championships you have proved you can do it which gives you a pass in a way for proof it can be done.

Like Jerry has a pass...he has done it three times and why many feel he can do it again.

How much success have Heisman Trophy Quarterbacks had in this league?

Folks need to realize that the Cowboys are struggling because of Jason Garrett, Wade Phillips and a weak General Manager.

As there anyone who doubts that Tony Romo wouldn't be successful in Pittsburgh, New England and other teams with strong leadership throughout the organization.

I would love to see GM Jerry Jones take a step back, hire Bill Cowher and see how the Cowboys improve.
