Charles Haley - Played blackjack with him for an hour the same night I collected $1500 at Harrahs in Lake Tahoe, from the Cowboys wining th3 92 season Superbowl ($100 at 15-1 odds), made the bet in 91.

The sad fact is I met more Pittsburgh Steelers from the 70's. I was traveling in Pitt for work (with my boss) and had Sushi at the Sheraton downtown. I had to take a call on my cell and when I got back my boss was sitting at the sushi bar and talking to this huge guy, who happened to be LC Greenwood. I told him I was a Cowboys fan and he told me he had more respect for Staubach than any non-Steeler player in the league. Of course while sitting there I met a bunch of guys like Blount, Lambert, Mean Joe, Bradshaw, Franco...Bla bla bla. It was the 20th anniversary party for them of their victory over us from the 79 Super Bowl. I think it made them pretty happy to celebrate with a Cowboys fan while I was eating my dinner.

Also, randomly met one of Tony Romo's college football coaches on a shuttle ride from the airport! Heard about how he was a very hard worker in college and walked onto the team his Freshmen year. After freshman year he was given a full scholorship. He was not recruited there out of HS.

Spoke to Emmitt Smith for 5 or 10 minutes while we were buying shoes in Kenneth Cole at the Galleria in Dallas.

He was well spoken and nothing but a gentleman to me and my wife.

Best RB in the history of the league and good taste in shoes to boot.

I've got my favorites (Drew, Preston) but they're all great, and I can't really say that any of them were ever standoff-ish or too busy to take the time to meet me and exchange a few words. As a fan, you can't ask for much more than that.

The Good: Meeting TD was a thrill for me. He's the reason I started watching the Boys in the first place.
The Bad: I met Terry Glenn after a tough loss to Denver, and he wasn't in a good mood. He blew off a kid wearing a Terry Glenn jersey. The kid was telling him how he followed his career from Ohio State on and was hoping for an autograph. I felt bad for both of them. Just bad timing I guess.
The Ugly: I congratulated Wade with a "Nice moves out there, coach!" after he got done cutting a rug at the Glass Cactus last year. If you thought the YMCA was bad, you should've seen this. He got a sincere chuckle out of the comment though and patted me on the shoulder. He's a very likeable guy.

Honorable Mention: Having lunch with Deon Anderson twice and bumping into him from time to time is always fun. He's one of the craziest/funniest/nicest guys on the team. Really hard to believe all the stuff that went down at Blackfin that one night, after meeting him.

I'm impressed, ive met about 67 players down through the years, but been about 3 years since been to training camp, or a game.

My best 2 meets were drew pearson, i had a dallas cowboys book and he asked where i got it, and we talked, he was at one of the basketball games that tony dorsett started, and they were visiting in lufkin, another meet was meeting mrs landry, john wooten at valley ranch headquarters, along with golden richards.

baddest one i had was when doug free and james marten, they went straight to the field and back after practice, wouldnt even sign autographs for the kids, what a bummer
