This year - Vikings loss - thought we had a shot at a SB

All-time: 1981 NFCC game to 49ers and ?1982 NFCC game to Commanders (No, Danny, no game) - mostly because I was much younger back then and couldn't handle losses as well.

The Baltimore SB debacle was the worst Cowboys game I witnessed, worst than 38-0 v. the Cards, worst that 44-6 v. Philly. Just physically and mentally sick for a week.

for posterity

the 35-7 drubbing at the hands of the Commanders a few years ago made me physically ill

#1 - Super Bowl 13... after watching SB 12 as a little boy I thought Dallas was the greatest thing since sliced bread. After getting a TD on that on-side kick I just knew Dallas could still do it. 2nd time was not a charm.

#2 - 1981 NFC Championship game. I almost choked on my coke because I was ready to royally scream, AFTER Dwight Clark's TD, when Drew Pearson came within a finger tackle of going the distance for the clinching score. Then Danny White fumbled... sigh

#3 - 1994 NFC Championship game. Deion had blatant pass interference against Michael Irvin and it was not called. I don't know if I've ever hollered that loud at an inanimate object before. Ken Norton Jr. will forever be traitor scum in my book too.

This year - 1. Divisional playoff game... 2. Opening game of the Death Star vs. NYG

2002 season opener vs the Texans, any Cowboy fan living in Houston knows why. :(

The loss that devastated me the most was the loss to San Fran in the 81 NFC title game. That loss hit me hard because just about everyone thought the Cowboys would win and it was the way they lost that really shook me. Within a 2 minute period you had The Catch and Danny Whites fumble that ended the game. The losses to Pittsburgh in SB X and XIII were extremely disappointing but I was braced for those because the Steelers had such a great team and the Cowboys were underdogs in both in games.

Most def the NFC Championship.

The only Dallas game I went to all season, and it was for a shot at the NFC title.

Regular season was probably San Diego or NY. It would have been very hard to find a fan after either of those games who thought we were making the playoffs.

Obviously, the Vikings game. Just knowing that Dallas was the better team and now in retrospect, seeing a team that the Cowboys dominated win the Super Bowl makes it even worse.

The second Giants loss this year really irked me, just 'cause it seemed like Romo and Witten were playing what I think were the best 2 games of their careers thus far, only to have it wasted by a special teams collapse.

Vikings, we didn't even show up for that game and we have 8 long months to wait for a better showing

The CATCH, and the Giants playoff game a couple seasons ago. Felt like someone ripped my heart out, threw it on the floor, and stomped on it both times.

Those 2 plus the '94 NFC Campionship. Living in NJ, and because it is so fresh, that Giants loss is probably the worst. If the Giants didn't end up winning the SB, it probably wouldn't hurt quite as bad. God, I hate that that happened. Yeah, that Giants game is #1 for me.

82 championship game vs Washington. Watched the game with a couple of friends who were Commander fans. Dallas got beat 31-17 and would not see another playoff win until 1991

The 1968 playoff loss to the Browns. I was so sure we would win it all that year. The Packers were no longer a threat and we had beaten the Browns soundly in the playoffs the previous year, I just KNEW this was our year. BUT NO! It was not to be! :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

That was one of the best teams the Cowboys ever had IMO and was Meredith's last season (and game). He was terrible in that game and no one gave him any slack, least of all Landry who as much blamed the loss on Don. I did too, but it was uncharacteristic of Landry to do that and Meredith retired at 31 soon after that game.

I was only 10 at the time and it broke my heart, even more than the Ice Bowl the year before did.
