What cuts are you eyeing?

Any particular players that you're keeping an eye on, hoping the Cowboys scoop them up if/when they get cut?

I'm more watching position groups for certain teams, where they're overloaded with talent and might have to release quality depth.

I'm keeping an eye on:
Seattle's RBs
San Francisco's RBs
Rams DL
Seattle's DBs
Arizona's DBs (Ross Weaver, good size, 4.41 40)
Carolina LBs
Jets DL
Bills DL

What you got?

A solid swing tackle!!!

Weeden's leadership, maturity, and knowledge of the game are actually good. He's just not athletic enough to make it happen. Under pressure, he rushes his slow-release throws and then misses receivers. On the run, he can barely turn his shoulders, his hips don't engage at all, and his resultant weak ducks are likely to make the lowlight reels.

Vaughn is a bit more athletic, but not much.

I'd let Weeden hold the clipboard for one more year, put Showers on the 53 (to do more than hold a clipboard), and sign somebody else's last cut to the PS.

Can imagine the headline when the #1 & 2 QBs go down -- "Showers Golden in Cowboys' Win"

I'm not as concerned as most are with our roster. However, I would be keeping my eyes on any cuts for backup offensive tackles. Unless this team is ready to play Collins at RT, Doug Free's health concerns me as much as his ability thus far in camp, mostly because Weems has not looked ready to even step in as a backup in a pinch.

Parnell was much better as a swing tackle but I can't blame him for taking the money and an opportunity to start.

I would also be keeping an eye out for bottom-roster WRs around the league, although I imagine Green Bay will be calling dibs.

Weems is useless, I think that we need to look for another QB, I like Showers as 3rd QB, but Dallas could do better at #2 QB. Also I think that we could add another RB, let Dunbar and McFadden battle it out for one RB position. They both are frail, and don't see either one taking a large # of snaps.

Dunbar is a guy that I would've liked Ryan Williams to unseat. I think we were banking on Ryan Williams competing with McFadden for the RB2 spot, and McFadden could be the 3rd Down Back with his pass pro ability and pass catching ability.

Ryan's injury setback kind of threw a wrench in the plans. Hopefully Randle will be able to run well behind the starting line. We'll find out on Saturday.

I want to see Vaughn get cut so we can develop showers. Honestly, I hope they give Showers the 2nd team reps this week so we can see exactly what he can do.

Let me save you the suspense. He's not an NFL quarterback. He's Tim Tebow without as much talent.

But he can cover kicks, so keep him over Vaughn.

Agree on GB except that they'll be very low (29th?) in the waiver claim pecking order.

I don't see any team cutting a RB that will make us release one of our 3. I also don't see any team releasing a LB/DB that we'll take over ours. I can see a DT being claimed, but that's about it.

These guys like the Rb and KR and PR for San Fran, the 4th Rb from Philly, ect. Dallas may be able to trade an extra DL or future pick to get one of these guys to be a stud backup RB, need that solid RB that can take a lot of snaps

Running backs will come free. They're a dime a dozen, and if they don't play special teams well, they're not of much use. Plus, injuries force teams to go heavy in certain positions, which forces them to cut elsewhere where they might not want to.

A decent swing tackle is hard to find, so a team will keep a guy that's not very good at tackle over a running back who can actually play. That's just out of necessity.

Can Weaver return punts and kicks and play ST's. If so, bring him on.
Then we can keep Porter or Harwell as a 5th WR.

I think people that kepe talking about trading for a RB are going to be disappointed ;)

For me:
KR/PR
WR
Ideally same guy.

Another OL to bridge til Chaz Green returns would be nice.

But end of the day I trust McClay more than just about anyone so if he brings a guy in I assume he can help us.

Gotta think we carry only 2 qb this year. We won't be cutting NFL quality at other position for players that will make it to prac squad
