What did All-Pro line win is before.answer: nothing!

This high priced offensive line is going to be on the bench watching this defense get mauled at the point of attack all season.

It blows my mind how they ignore the defensive line while spending 3 firsts in 4 years on the oline.
Agreed. It's so obvious, but this fan base is just in denial I guess.

I get they probably picked the guy highest on their board, but guard was low on my list of needs. I think golden would have been maybe a slight reach but impact the game more. I can feel better about this pick if they get an impactful WR today.

Now how prospects pan out is to be determined. However, the DT class was pretty strong this year on paper.
Dallas decided to pass on those top guys.

My point of view was let's say we assigned grades to players and their performance, take a "neutral" site such as PFF.

Brock Hoffman was rated as a 66.3 overall, or 44th for guards.
64 starting guards in the NFL.
Not a stud, but still rated fine.

Mazi Smith PFF grade was 38.4, or 207 out of 219 for DTs

Say Booker comes in and he posts a 77(top 10 PFF score from 2024)

10 overall points better. Maybe he's a better mauler, grader etc..
We got improvement, but by 10 points.

Say someone like Nolen or Grant post a 70 overall score. Not as high as Booker and his 77 score, but he would pretty much double the overall output by Mazi.

To me, the DT was a bigger need and there was talent there that would of been fine taking at 12. Wasn't like T Hill was the best D available at #12.

Booker may be an all pro and Nolen a bust. Or vice versa. I'm not claiming a winner or loser on the 25th. However, I just feel like Dallas once again took the "safe" pick with not as much upside to actually improving the team over last year.

All on guys named Tyler.

We've had an all pro QB before and did nothing

So do you suggest we keep he who shall not be named?
Roger Staubach won a couple of superbowls
Unless you are taking about 2nd team AP, then we have one of those now.

Think about this: What is the Dallas identity? We've never been known (at least in the past 30 years) as a high flying offense or a shut down defense. The one identity I believe we can legitimately lay claim to is a strong OLine that has their way with the defense. That's when the team has been at its best.

You can say, great, what did it do for us? But we haven't won anything in near 30 years. What did anything do for us?! We've had hall of farmers come and go without winning a superbowl. Does that mean we shouldn't want hall of famers?

We had an ALL PRO line before with two future hall of famers and didn’t win squat…

De ja vu

Hate the pick
You still have to have it,. Can’t help it that Elliot fails. Can’t help it that we couldn’t stop the run to save our lives. But it did give us a top offense consistently.

HOF QBs help O-lineman look good and vise versa. We’ve got a dud at QB so there’s that.
I don’t know how you can say that when we had a top offense. How many years. It’s his fault we can’t stop the run.

Ya we have to get better there also
