What did Kornheiser say?

I'm Hispanic and I didn't really take any offense. It's Kornjulio trying to be funny.

Honestly, the one that I thought to my self, "What an idiot that guy is." was the one where he was making the comment on how lucky so and so was to be here. I don't remember exactly the phrase he used. Maybe somebody can refresh that one.

Anyway, all I can remember thinking to myself was, "Maybe you (Kornhiser) should think about how lucky you are. You look like you do, you don't have much talent and your not even all that knowledgable about football yet here you sit, Monday Night Football, telling somebody else how lucky they are to be here." or whatever the ignorant comment he made was.

What an idgiot.

Pretty sure you misinterpreted what he said. He said "How lucky are we to be sitting here watching this game." Like, what a great game this is, this is what it's all about. Then someone mentioned this is why people pay outrageous prices for tickets, hoping to see something like this.

ESPN and Taco Bell teamed up to present this as another part of their apology.

No, I remember that segmant. This was something different all together. I don't know. I guess it doesn't matter. He sucks.

:laugh2:

from yahoo sports:

"During last night's game, ESPN's Tony Kornheiser uttered an apology, and no one seemed to know why. After listening to a snippet of the Spanish-language broadcast of the game in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month,
Kornheiser said this:

"I took high school Spanish, either he said he's not going to be caught, or please pick up my dry cleaning tomorrow."

And later, this:

"I said something before which I shouldn't have said, I apologize for it. Not my first mistake, undoubtedly won't be my last, but a 100% apology."

Yeah, I kind of knew that is what he was talking about.

I was a little suprised that he made the joke .

I took his comment to mean that he wasn't a good spanish student or perhaps even student in general.

But then what we intend and what others receive is not always the same and I give him props for dealing with it right then and there rather than letting this gather steam.

Yeah, I think there is often over-sensitivity in situations like these but the easiest way to diffuse is apologize and move on.

he said the eagles suck sorry jaws ! los aguilas no son buenos !! lo siento jaws! lmao

In this uber-PC world, it was insensitive to insinuate that Spanish speaking workers would be the guys who pick up his dry cleaning. It wasn't funny, but it wasn't worth an apology.

that wasn't even what he was saying, someone got in his ear and convinced him to do damage control

He was apologizing for praising the Cowboys while working for ESPN.

I dont get it either.

Tony probably didn't want people to think that he only thought of Hispanics as mere servants.

I am kinda slow about this stuff, but that seems so stupid to even make that leap and I would tend to assume anyone that did has a problem with hispanics.

It's called CYA, just in case.

He came back from a break and kept apologizing for a comment.

What did he say? I must of missed it
Don't know, but I HOPE it was something to the effect that he has decided to go live the rest of his natural life on a deserted island somewhere in the south pacific.

Just one more thing...

I don't think it was the dry cleaning remark.

After the DeSean Jackson thing, they were tyalking about how Andy Reed would handle the situation, and one of the guys said Andy is like a father figure to some of these players, and Tony said something to the affect "And we all know what kind of father Andy was to his kids" or some such refering to his two sons legal problems.

That would get ESPN to make Tony appoligize.

Kornheiser, believing he was off the air, told his colleagues that Chris Cooley proved he was a true Commander....

I certainly hope Goodell doesn't come down on him too hard...
