What did Super Bowl teams have in common?

Great QB play and premier CBs. If we are going to spend Murray's money, we should sign Cromartie, cut Carr after June 1, and sign best remaining 3rd CB. We have not been able to consistently get off the field on 3rd down in a decade...

We would need a saftey that can cover too though. Plus with our passrush they have all day to throw.

Are you basing your insight on just the last 2 superbowl winners? What premier CBs and great QB did Baltimore have when they won it 3 years ago? What premier CBs did Pittsburg have? I can keep going.

Is Cromartie great anymore? Not sure he is even average.

I will agree with you that the great QB / great CB combo is a great ticket to post-season success.

Going back to 2010 with PIT, huh? Point is, in today's NFL with rules that favor QBs and WRs, you need good CBs (or premier pass rushers that can cover up mediocre CBs) to be an elite team.

Yes, I went back a whopping 4 years. Excuse me for diving into ancient history to discuss your points.

How about Carr takes a pay cut to stay on the team and we sign Cromartie? Unless we do actually make a run at Hardy I think it's pretty apparent that we aren't spending big $ on DL.....Might as well spend the cap space we have somewhere.

At this point I'll consider Cromartie + Adrian Clayborn a successful free agency.

Since teams play 3 CBs so often, and Scandrick is the ideal slot CB, I'd be in favor of this.

That and a Murray/Ro combo and I'll be ecstatic!
