agreed. A team really has to have either excellent coverage or a dominant pass rush. I would rather be great at one of the two and not good at all at the other, rather than middle of the pack at both.

I generally agree, but our Romo window is too small. We need to take some FA shots on defense this year to make a run in the next 1-3 years.

It could go both ways (pass rush & CB's). Seattle & the Pats had elite CB play & fairly solid pass rush. They also had guys like Thomas, McCourty & Chancellor at safety. Basically, those two defenses had playmakers at all 3 levels.

Interestingly, the Cowboys finished 2nd in the league in takeaways & 8th vs. the run. They had just 28 sacks as a team though. Despite that, they beat Seattle, Indy, and played a great game in Green Bay. I'd take Hardy over Cromartie. One is in his prime, and the other is on the decline (though still pretty decent).

What I don't understand is why do people say we have a small window aren't we basically a young team other then Romo Witten Free Carr Lee And 1 or 2 D Linemen our team age is in its early to mid 20s

Boss I hear what your saying but Weeden is a terrible example of gagging this team without Romo Weeden could of played for the 70s Steelers teams and they would have struggled to win. I'm not taking old number 9 for granted but you just never know how your going to find your next franchise quarterback.

Shouldn't this thread be posted after the Cowboys actually fail on the field and not eliminated by a horrendous call by an official?

Would that CB change the Dez call? Because this year's Cowboys were on their way to the Super Bowl with the right call on the field. They had as good of a shot as anyone.

I agree, but they have to upgrade the DL. The only 2 players who are certain is Lawrence and Crawford. All other DL positions could stand to be upgraded. We simply can't continue using Hayden as a pass rusher......
