What do we do with Dak going forward?

There is just no way you can pay this guy.

I don't care what his market value is.. I say let him go play in the market and if some team is dumb enough to pay him 35 million then let them.

Just because these other teams made stupid deals doesn't mean the Cowboys have to..

I like Dak... I think he's a good solid player.. But he just runs the offense and doesn't elevate anyone as a player.

Am I wrong or did we have 3 road games where we didn't score a Touchdown this year? Saints, Patriots, and Eagles yesterday..?
Dak is a solid back up, and should be payed as so....I think you’re absolutely right, no one should pay dak big money because “the market” says they should. I call BS. Let him hit FA and see what dumb galoot come running with a 30 mill $ check. And when/if they do I’m gonna pat myself on the back and congratulate myself it’s not me. We need to look hard in this draft for a QB that will at least challenge for the starting spot. I just feel it won’t be hard though. As long as we have Zeke we have a chance at a ship

I understand the national narrative on him. But he does play for championships. He knows what it takes to get there. Georgia just can't seem to put all the pieces together at the same time to get over the hump.

Fromm is going to be very, very good. Any team would be lucky to get him. You'll see.

It depends which team drafts him. If he is on a team with seasoned dependable Receivers (the Chargers will be a great fit), he will shine. If he is called on to be a game manager (Denver Broncos), I have my doubts.

Sign the man and keep moving forward. New coach new OC and reassess in 3 years.

Have to franchise him and see what he does with a new staff. If he doesn’t succeed then time to look for a new QB.

Hire a REAL head coach. Let them decide.

franchise him. Make him play again in a Contract year.

Head coaches don't negotiate player contracts. Franchising Prescott is an option but if you have a problem with paying Prescott 35 mil a season, franchising him guarantees him the average of the top 5 QB's based on 2019 salaries and that would put Prescott at 33.4 mil for the 2020 season. So a single season is just 1.6 mil less than that 35 mil but actually his agent has said all along that he was looking for 38-40 mil a season which would make him the highest paid QB in the league and I don't think he deserves that much. Franchising Prescott may be the cheapest way out for 2020 but franchising players also often makes the player harbor ill feelings about the team for franchising him instead off giving him a long term contract.

I’m not saying the coach negotiates the contract.

I’m just saying that the next coach, if they are a real coach. Should be the one to decide. “I can win with Dak or I can’t win with Dak”.

I understand how the franchise tag works. I do think it gives them the flexibility in that Dak wouldn’t be locked up long term.

I also don’t think Dak should harbor any ill will. If the reports or the cowboys offering 33-35 mil per year are true. That’s on Dak and his agent for not taking it.

I’m not anti Dak. Far from it. But he needs to recognize that his performance this season didn’t raise his value at all. It’s the same as it was prior to the season. He deserves no more than the contracts that Wentz/Goff got.

It's irrelevant what you pay him for one year. Just don't make a long term commitment that holds you hostage for years.

As Martin Scorsese says........."Where's the Drama?" Still not over. All that "Drama".

All the best against the Giants. Didn't you need OT to beat them at home? Hmmmmm.

Pederson 12-3 after week 14. Losses are 2 playoff teams and resting starters.

Franchise him and he will sit out. He’s learned all about negotiating from his good buddy Zeke.

Only those that have something against Prescott hasn't seen a huge progress from his rookie season. Just about every talking head and announcers on TV have commented on the progress he's made. I don't think he deserves the 38-40 mil his agent is looking for but getting tagged will get him Wentz/Goff type money the difference will be the Cowboys will have to go through the negotiating all over after next season where the eagles and rams won't have to and because salaries go up every year that means it will cost more to sign him. It won't matter whoever ends up being the coach because the Cowboys don't have a better QB on roster and since Jerry likes Prescott he will probably tell whoever that coach is that Prescott IS his QB.

I'm sure there are several people here that don't like Prescott and don't want him to get a long term contract but having only a 2 - 3 year window with the talent here to make a deep run at a Super Bowl it's unlikely the Cowboys will move on to another QB helping to close that time frame on that window. There are other pressing needs that the Cowboys won't trade needed draft picks to move up to get another QB thus giving up on those other needs. The cowboys have several talented players but their talent isn't deep so they not going to trade away any of their talent for a QB making more holes to have to fill. Whether those that are opposed to Prescott as the QB here or not you might as well get used to the idea that he's here and not going anywhere.
