no interior OL is worth a 1st rd pick IMO...too many good one's can be found after that

Pace was an excellent pick for the Rams.

If he's the BPA he might be worth it since it's a position we need to upgrade.

an OG in the 1st? I don't like it, and no, he's not going to be able to play OT in the pros, he's slow and doesn't slide well

When the draft rolls around, I doubt he is even considered a 1st round talent.

I don't give a crap if he's a guard and that guards aren't normally taken in the first round. We NEED a player like him. We need a roadgrader, a mauler, a guy that can destroy the defender in front of him. We should either take him at # 22 or trade down and take him later. We have to get a young guard.

if interior OL's are the "best player available" when we pick, this is a pretty weak draft

in my opinion, no OL will be the BPA when we pick

you can get quality starting guards without wasting premium picks on them

use high picks on impact positions...not positions where almost any decent player can be plugged in...guards and centers can be coached up and made into adequate players

I'm really not...I think we'll use the 1st pick on a WR, CB or a longer shot of perhap's FS if somehow Landry or Nelson fell in our laps

I really think our 1st pick is gonna be a WR though

Dont be surprised if its a tweener though.

Not really sure what Wade thinks of Bradie James but I am hoping he thinks like me.

What's it going to be then, eh?

If you put any credence in Raphel Vela:

I was told that the Cowboys’ player templates for o-linemen (and all positions for that matter) will likely stay the same. No major changes are planned for the offense this year. And why would Dallas consider this, given its success in ‘06?
This means the team will value linemen who can pull and run. If you’re looking guard, think Ben Grubbs over bigger, heavier, more straight-ahead guys like Justin Blalock. At tackle, think about guys like Joe Staley. When you read profiles on o-linemen look for lines like this, which I found in a draft profile of Daryn Colledge, a player Dallas tried to get in round two last year,
Can be nasty and drive defenders into the ground. Can pull, trap and maneuver out in space.
This makes a mauler, road-grader type like Blalock a bad fit.

I think they'll leave Carpenter at OLB, and it sounds like Phillips believes Ellis is going to be back...

James will be fine with a better system, but I'd bet the farm he's only on the field on 1st and 2nd downs from now on

yep, I don't think we change systems either

another OG prospect that fits our mold is Aaron Sears, he's athletic enough to play OT, but many feel he's best suited inside
