What do you think about if the rookie RB we draft is the starter. MB3 has been very good for us in the second half and has been decent on short yardage and goaline situation does he need to be the starter next year?

I've got no issues with that. However our pro bowl RB might not be too happy with it.

yea but he was a pro bowler coming off the bench

I think he has been a little better than decent on goaline situations.

i think he converted like 50 percent of the time

Based on how many TD's had over the past few years I would believe, without any facts, that he converted HIS part of the play more than 50% of the time. Personally, I would also like to see them hit him on check downs more often like they did with Emmitt early in his career.

Actually it all depends, on what RB we draft. Imo there are only a couple RB's in the draft thata re ready to start..

#1 D-Mc

#2 Mendenhall

#3 Stewart

ya think.... he is da "barberian"

I dont think there is a rookie coming in next year that can overtake MBIII as the stater and that includes McFadden

Barber is a great finisher but he can still be a finisher even if he starts as long as the rookie can carry some of the load

Yeah but the problem, is the way MBIII plays, i don't think the guy would make it for 16 games as a starter..

Agreed but none would start for us next year

All three will be very good backs though

I think you have to give Barber a shot at being a legit starter before you assume that he can't do it. As far as I'm concerned he absolutely needs to be the starter next year.

Possibly but as long as we got someone else getting 10-12 carries I think Barber would be fine at starting

In that case lets just stick to what we had going on last season with JJ and MBIII.. Im all for it.. we had a great running game with a 1-2 punch.. MBIII and Felix Jones would be killer..

I love MBIII, but I think part of his role in the Pro Bowl was his overall popularity b/c of his running style. The guy runs like a Chinese tank at a pro-democracy demonstration (yeah been wanting to say that for a while hehe).

But, he has proven that he can be an every down back? It would help if the defense could hold leads and the offense could put up points early. I don't think he's proven he is an everydown back...yet. My hope is he can be and still run as hard as he does now.

BUT... if he's not and we settle for a lesser player to back him up, we could end up w/ 2 #2 Rbs and no real #1 guy.

I am optimistic he can carry the load and we wouldnt' need McFadden or Felix Jones, but...who knows.

Tony Dorsett - 1007 yards, 12 touchdown - Rookie of the Year

I think having a rookie as a starter is not a big deal. And Barber will deal with it.

I look at it this way, if the rookie RB shows he is the best option then he should get the start. Same with all position, it is all about production

I'm just not sure what would be better its like late in the game we know MB3 will be getting the ball do we want that or a rookie. How good is a tired MB3 ???? not that good and we should all know its not how you start its how you finish.
