If you are just talking age with Hendrickson, he is definitely getting older. But IMO, he hasn’t shown signs of slowing down.
He has had 17.5 sacks in each of the last 2 years and was 2nd behind Surtain for defensive player of the year last year. He has averaged 14 sacks/year the last 5 years and has only 1 year above a 70% snap count in his career. He usually averages around 65% for the season.
He has played through a hip injury this year and missed 1 game, so that would need to be evaluated. But he had the best year of his career at 30 and didn’t even blossom until he was 27. Prior to that, he was a lower rotational guy. He doesn’t have the mileage on him that many players have after 8+ seasons in the NFL.

- Crosby snap count - 5997 in 7 years.
- Hendrickson snap count - 4578 in 9 years.
As long as he is motivated to play in the NFL, I would give up a second in a heartbeat as long as we resign.
