I wish I could take credit for that but I just stumbled upon it. I figured it fit here since this thread turned into an "Old saggy man boobs" discussion so fast.

Still funny nonetheless. But let's see if we can turn it back away from the silicon implants concept ...

Conjecturally speaking, wouldn't you say that Bill Parcells had some input into the decision to acquire Wade Phillips? If so, would it be reasonable to assume that BP may have had some reluctance to having Garrett as HC? Or ... if BP did not have an input into WP as HC, could that mean the Jerry has reservations into having Garrett as HC?

If none of the above (and you think those perspectives may be an over-analysis), then how do you see the move toward WP ...perhaps as a mentor?

he'd lose even more if he'd shave off that mustache. Of course he'd also lose some of his coolness rating from looking like an out of work 70's porn star.

You can't be very serious about this whole thing ...and you wouldn't say such things if you knew how much doughnut crumbs that mustache catches!

I don't think BP had anything to do with hiring WP.

I think Jerry's guy is Garrett and I also think WP is Jerry's guy.

Had to fix the Defense, first and foremost, could not just go out and get a 3-4 DC in a lateral move and have Garrett as HC. I don't think that would have worked or have been possible because of the lateral move issues and the idea that an established DC would be under an unestablished guy in Garrett.

In the end I think Jerry is getting exactly what he wanted and in his mind hopefully a win/ win situation

Whats so good about Cowher that would have anyone "frightened"?

I think I understand what you're trying to say. But since you didn't say it, I'll have to give you what I think you're saying. Believe you're saying that I shouldn't let the thought of a Bill Cowher Cowboys frighten me because you believe that BC is overrated, or not capable of putting together a fierce Cowboy's team.

That said, I'd have to leave those decisions to the Cowboy's front office. Literally, I'm not frightened. But I am saying that I believe that Bill Cowher would be a strong enough coach to fit into any franchise. Let me put it to you in another way, but I will say that this Eagles fan does not want to see that Cowher at the helm in Dallas.

So I hope you're right!

I really think Cowher is one of the best coaches out there. I know he has only won one title but management has continually let his best players exit via FA and still expected him to win, which he has done.

I don't know what he could accomplish with someone like Jerry who does not let his best players leave and goes out and fills in the weak spots.

I thought of that, but couldn't put all of the many possibilities that may have resulted in the decision to acquire Wade. But if that were the case, then why was there a "short list?" Why take such a close look at Norv Turner if wade was the ringer that Jerry was looking for.

Side Note: Do you really believe that BP wouldn't have had some input about the decision to acquire Wade? Wouldn't that mean that Jerry didn't place any worth into what BP said? I'm not sure whether all Cowboy fans are buying into that perspective (at least this Eagle's fan doesn't). It's almost traditional to listen to the lame duck viewpoints, and keep what you agree with, and toss Out what you disagree with. But to say ..."I don't think BP had anything ..." that's a little too unrealistic for me.

No, the relationship between the HC and owner should be one in collaboration. That said, I know BP had an opinion ...he's too outspoken not to have had an opinion. What neither you or I know about this scenario is ...what was BPs opinion!?

Without Dick Lebuea, Cowher is nothing. He is going to flop wherever he goes. Bank on it. And i guarantee it wont be Dallas. Carolina can have him.

All those years of having championship caliber teams and he has one ring? A ring that i dont think he would've even gotten had Carson Palmer not got hurt? OK!

Stay on the Cowher bandwagon if you want to.

I support what You're saying. Coupled with the fact that the Steelers organizations keep their Head Coaches for longer periods of time than most other teams in the NFL. Cowher has been in Pittsburgh long enough to learn his system (integrated with the Steerlers system) very well. A tweak here or there, and Cowher's system would probably work well in most NFL franchises (not all, but probably in Dallas).
