Again, the Cowboys did get it together in a couple of those games as both Tony Romo and Dak Prescott worked some fourth-quarter magic to persevere, but why does this team keep putting themselves in tough spots? The Cowboys have had some great offenses during many of those seasons only to sputter come playoff time.

This is to the Dak fans. I think 99.9% of the fanbase actively roots for the team over any player which means we are all rooting for Dak to figure it out.

Question is to the fans, what is he missing? Are there any traits or skills that you believe he has that he has not shown or given the chance to show? What gets him over the hump?
The fact that he continues to have problems reading defenses that are giving him problems tell me that he does not do enough film study. You look at the best of the best QBs in the league who have played the game at a superior level, including in the playoffs, and you see one constant trait......watch film and watch more film. Even in the off season. He appears to me he doesn't put in the time to figure it out which he should considering his contract. Plus, his arm and his mind are weak, ...gets rattled easily. His injuries have cost him any mobility he had when he broke into the league. Pocket presence is below average, which ain't gonna get better when your OL is getting weaker as well.. Your franchise QB who you rather have drive the bus. He has been given every chance in the book to succeed, but his ceiling has been reached. And that hump is as big as Mt. Everest. Other than that, i guess he and Jerry are a perfect match. In over their heads. I read he is proclaimed to be a great leader of men...General Custer comes to mind.

You are right about one thing, i am a Dallas Cowboys fan, and always root for the TEAM to win. And not shy to call out any who are holding this team back, so i am not blindly optimistic or a fan boy like some here. JMHO.....of course.

What gets him over the hump is a real strong running game..which we probably don't have.

He stops throwing into coverage and regresses to the mean with picks while maintaining his trajectory elsewhere and he has a line like

4.8k yards 67% completions, 8 ypa 30 TD 8 int.

QB is the most important position in sports but it is not all on him. That being said if we can get the same or better defensive production that we got last year we can compete with anyone and are contenders.

All-Pros at every position? ; )
All-Pros at every position?

That's what Romo had, yet still failed.

This year might be better for Dak with better weapons and new playbook. The key offensively will be the Oline. The Defense definitely will be better. Dak needs to make it happen this year.

Lets see.....

you could give Dak the 85 Bears defense,
the early 90's Dallas o'line,
Randy Moss, Micael Irvin, and Jerry Rice for receivers,
Emmitt, Barry Sanders, and Walter Payton for a RB tandem,
The best TE's to ever play the game,

And it still wouldn't be enough to overcome his lack of talent.

Like I said in another post - just a joke, cause I knew someone would say that.

I avoid the Romo and Dak debates like the plague, I understand both sides of the arguments on both QBs.

And yes any QB will benefit from a good O-line, running game, play calling and not to mention a good D.

Making unprovable assertions on hypotheticals is the best you can do?

Honestly, we need luck in the health dept. team wide. Our starters are great but come playoff time many of them will not be available. I think we have good depth everywhere but where we really need it. On the line of scrimmage.
