I got your answer...........
Jerry sees in Phillips what he saw in Campo and Gailey, and yes, Jason Garrett. And don't think for ONE SPLIT SECOND, contrary to what some believe, he didn't see it in Parcells. In fact, Jerry demands it or you're not qualified to coach the Cowboys. You ask "what does Jerry see........?"
It's the unique and gifted quality that's either inbred or trained. It's a talent you can't do without if you're gonna' be Dallas' HC. It's a trait that, if you do not only posses it, but MASTER it, it's an automatic "deal breaker" with Jerry. If you don't live by this creed, then "need not apply".
Ready? Here's you answer: "YOU DO WHATEVER THE HELL I TELL YOU TO DO OR ELSE!!!" OK? Got it? I know I should get some kind of "Psychological Nobel Prize" for figuring this out all on my own. It takes tremendous insight and foreknowledge, pondering and observational skills to see this, so this makes me into some kind of "rocket scientist" I suppose. I'm very proud of myself for uniquely figuring this out all by my little 'ole self.
Jones wouldn't have ever been in the position to even buy the team if he didn't live his life like this. He's ALWAYS been, "my way or the highway, I'm in charge, I'm the boss". That's why the wealthy are wealthy. They know what they want and refuse to take no for an answer. He tolerated Jimmy Johnson until his usefullness was expired, but even during those years managed to insert himself, prod and tinker and be a pain in the ***.
That experience only made for a scarier Frankenstein monster. It left such a bitter taste in his mouth that he doubly swore "NEVER AGAIN".
That's the long answer to "what does Jerry see in Wade?"
