What does Kiffin need to do to get fired?

I'm not entirely sure that Kiffin is the problem. Our D is predicated on a strong pass rush from the front four (ie. Carolina) which we haven't had this season because of injuries and not putting any emphasis on it in the draft.

I say keep Kiffin for another season after making some moves this off-season to strengthen the front four. Jerry can always fire him mid-season and have Marinelli as the interim if need be.

Now as for replacing Garrett with a real head coach that knows how to run situational football, I'm all for that.

I never liked the change or the hiring of Kiffin, it was a bandaid to get our minds off of the awful finish last year.......just another Jerry spin job.

I was so embarrassed while watching this game with friends that I stopped watching it.

First time I have done that, maybe ever. This D is disgusting.

Kiffin is a fine coordinator. Ask lovie Smith what he would do with Wynn, Selvie, Hayden, half Ware. This isn't Madden. People talking about Rob like he wasn't getting torched past two years. We didn't forget the Philly game in 2011.........well Atleast I didn't.

give up 899 or more yards in a single game would probably be the last straw.

899 sounds high, but I would not be surprised if we give up

I don't think Rob's defense was giving up 40 first downs or 600 yards per game. They were bad, but not that bad.

Throw out all the stats you want. They do not matter. He had 3 starters in the game last night. Exactly what do you want him to do?

I have no idea if Kiffin is good or not but how on earth can anyone know when Dallas is trotting out guys you have never heard of on a weekly basis. I will judge him once he has something that resembles NFL talent on the field.

1. Saints had 40 first downs, which is an NFL record.
2. Second game in 3 weeks in which Dallas allows more than 600 yards.
3. Saints set a record of more yards in a single game IN TEAM HISTORY (625).
4. The 625 yards was 5th in a single game in HISTORY (post-merger era).
5. 31st in the league in yards allowed... and this is without counting the last game.
6. NFL record of allowing 4 QBs to throw for more yards, and there are still another 6 games left (no doubt we will shatter the record. this will be safer than Emmitt's record).

So when is it enough? How much worse can it get? How many more "records" do we need?

Maybe Jerry is waiting for teams to get 750+ yards against us? Or maybe 60+ points?

I understand the defense is decimated by injuries, but this performance is unacceptable. I normally don't believe it makes sense to fire coaches mid-season unless things are really bad.... well, things are really bad and they can't get any worse. Kiffin is done and he needs to be fired this week.

Keep putting sims and Heath in the game . By doing this we are essentially playing with 9 defenders . I'm convinced this is the correct formula .

To get fired, Kiffin needs for his defense to keep screwing up for the remainder of this season. If they do so anywhere near as blatantly as they have been so far, it should signal an unavoidable and an undeniably appropriate time to exact drastic measures.

At present, Jerry is in damage control mode and slyly professing to be clueless as to exactly how this could have happened, emphasizing how he "never saw it coming." The fact that it's not exactly believable doesn't seem to sway him from making that assertion, of course.

Clearly, there is and has been more than ample evidence to demonstrate the plight that our current defense is in. That should be clearly obvious to anyone who may have been exposed to the defensive stats of the last few games. Any GM, even including Jerry, would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to have seen this coming.

Naturally, Jerry, being who and what he is, feels compelled to deny having any clue as to being aware of what's been happening. It's Jerry's special way of applying damage control in an attempt to deflect the possible loss of ticket sales. Evidently, that is and will always be his priority number one.

I would fire Garrett and Kiffen this week. You have the bye to make the transition. Seems extreme but i think the players need a serious wake up call. When Wade was canned, the team seemed to play better. When you are losing games on a scale of this magnitude you have to do something. Jerry doesn’t think injuries can be used as an excuse (see last year with Ryan) so he shouldn’t this season.

Kiffin only has a 1 year contract. He'll make it through the season under the guise of helping to implement Dallas's 4-3, then Marinelli takes over.
