What Equals Success Over Next 6 Weeks for You?

Injuries have happened to some key guys, with others suspended and its just week 1. Leary could be out 1-3 weeks, Mcclain and Hardy wont be back until game 5, Gregory 4-6 weeks and Dez 4-6 (with reports of longer). With those guys out, what are your expectations? What would you consider successful?

For me if we can stay at least within one game of Philadelphia by then I would be fine with that. I think the team is more than capable of winning without them, but as long as they maintain no more than a one game gap I'm ok with it.

With Dez, Hardy, Gregory and McClain returning in approx. 6 weeks, plus a huge win with 7 seconds to go yesterday, has made those weeks of success a lot easier to achieve.

Dallas (1-0) and Smeagles (0-1) has your expectations met by a game or two thus far. Of course next week @ Philthy could either distance that notion or tie it up. 2-0, 0-2 or 1-1 respectively.

Let's not beat ourselves for starters....last night was almost very embarrassing.

Oh, i don't know, maybe 5-0? That sounds pretty successful ;)

Dez is a huge loss, the team has to game plan around it and it will have a big effect.

The dropoff between Leary and Bern isn't that much, I don't see it as an issue.

The dropoff between Gregory and Russell is bigger, but Russell is still capable of generating a pass rush in the same 15 - 20 snaps per game.

The DE's and LBs are OK now, adding Hardy and McClain will be an improvement but neither is an area of weakness right now. I think its all about the offensive game plan and if they utilize the RBs well, we will be OK until Dez returns.

Beat the Eagles, Seahawks, Falcons, Giants, and Saints. If the Patriots slip past us, I can live with that.

4 and 2. Injuries happen. It's a part of the game. What will define this team for me is if someone steps up in Dez's place. We saw that the team has the offensive firepower to keep it moving via the last 10 minutes of the NY game. They have to keep that going. Gregory going down is awful, but then again, someone has to step up there too. A rookie isn't going to be the make or break piece in the defense.

Aside from winning, what I'd really like to see (which we won't do) is us developing some of these young guys while our veteran stars are out with injury/suspension.

A few things I'd really like to see are: 1) Collins starts at LG if Leary misses any time, 2) Jones or White get a shot at FS and Wilcox replaces Church at SS, 3) Coleman gets activated and gets a chance to shine while our pass rushers are out, 4) Escobar gets an increased role while Dez it out, 5) Whitehead is our return man so we don't get Beasley hurt, 6) We give Randle/McFadden/Michael an equal chance and see who our #1 RB is.

The only one I can really see happening is Escobar getting more chances when Dez is out. We seem to be scared to give rookies a chance or change our lineup even when it could be improved.

Atlanta really did us a solid tonight by beating the Eagles.............with a one game lead on everybody in the division, if we can just go 500 or better over the next month we should be ok. As long as we are in striking distance (a game or two) of the division lead by the time we get everybody back, we will be ok.

My thoughts exactly. Even if they don't build a lead by then, they could easily get on a 2nd half roll when rhese guys start getting healthy/activated

if Dallas can be .500 at end of 6 weeks, I think they will be positioned to make serious run at end. Divisional wins are huge.

As long as we got Tony(and Scott), it doesn't matter who's injured, we have arguably the best QB in the league! We will still win. The Gregory injury hurts most for me. Don't know if we have anybody who can duplicate what he brings. With Dez, we do have quality people who can make up for the loss as a group(witten, williams, bease, maybe esco, backs) and Romo's a stud. Defense(DL) only has Crawford and Lawrence.

I think 4-2 at worst. But I think they'll probably be back before the full 6 weeks.

Luckily for us, we don't have to play at Buffalo or Miami during the 6 weeks.

Can Devin Street and the other guy become contributors or are they just bodies?

Success is 6-0 but I'd settle for win vs Falcons and Saints, plus sweep NYG. Falcons look good. Hopefully Julio sprains something.

I could deal with a loss to Philadelphia at Philly.

Patriots in a late Sunday game in Dallas, I think we match up well. Gronk is not going for 3 TDs every game. Lafell is on PUP. We have Hardy back that game. Michael should be well up to speed by then. Toss up.

I think Dez is back by second NYG game but limited. Early bye works out this year. All systems go for November run.

I don't know about the next 6, but 5-3 at the halfway point is a good result. 4-4 puts you in wildcard territory, with lower chances of winning the division. They went 6-2 and 6-2 last year. This puts them at either 11-5 or 10-6, the former probably good enough to repeat as division winners, something no NFC East team has done since Philly in 2004.

I go with 5-3 as worse case and still be in the running of winning the division. Our D should be ok, as last year we didn't have Hardy or Gregory, we had Ro last year, but we have Lee back. We have more depth in the secondary.

The OL should be fine. Just need to have a game plan to produce without Dez. And Street will need to show what the coaches like him for. Time for him to man up. Losing Dez is big, but it should not make us go into the tank either.

So we really have to hold up against the Eagles offense, which looked good and bad last night. But was that the Falcons D too being bad. we will need to cover Jones and White when the Falcons come to play. The only D we need to be concerned with is Seattle.

As for how the divison standings go, need to look at their schedules too, it is not just about our schedule. They still need to play their games, and could lose too. It's not like they are all of a sudden great teams because we will be down 3 players. At least we will get these players back.

Unlike the Ravens losing Terrell Suggs for the year. Commanders, not that we fear them, will be without Jackson for 3 to 4 weeks. Probably their only threat. The Goants will play back down to their true selves after their almost victory. Lol. Eagles, did they look all that powerful. On D no, on O, their passing game concerns me if they play well, but not if they play like the first quarter. Sproles concerns me.

I don't expect dez for a couple months and then he won't be able to play much because he is already out of shape
I would be surprised if Gregory is back under 6 weeks
But I still think we can have a winning record

I hate losing both Dez and Gregory. I do think the Gregory loss is going to be harder on Dallas because the of Hardy situation. Having said that I expect the Cowboys to go out and win these games. To do so they need to clean up the sloppy play and running game will need to improve over this last game.

After watching Philly's secondary last nt I wish we had Dez!

Linny and Romo are going to have creative on offense over the next few. Go out and beat Philly without Dez? Look out later on!
