Like Johnson and Israel but think they will be gone by pick 10.
Thinking we may need to call Tennessee about trading for Henry the way this is going. I’m NOT confident in our RBs outside of TP

I agree with this! Hes got 2 good years left and won’t have to carry the load. Hes the perfect complement to Pollard.

Dallas really needs to draft a back in my opinion. What's left?
Out of 102 players selected over the first two nights, only 7 were RBs.
1st rd : Robinson (Texas), Gibbs (Alabama)
2nd rd: Charbonnet (UCLA)
3rd rd: Miller (TCU), Spears (Tulane), Achane (Texas A&M), Bigsby (Auburn)

Israel Abanikanda, and hopefully Deuce Vaughn (I know he is small, but he is a playmaker) are the two I hope Dallas is looking at.

I wouldn't complain about both, but if they could get Deuce late, then you have a returner, slot guy, and part time RB. Too small to block much at 5'5" 180lb, but quick and can take it to the house at any time. He also has a Dallas connection.

I hope Dallas uses a late pick on him.

issue is we need contrast.

we have too many small backs alrwady low rounds are perfect for a big short yardage tough back.., my bet Roshon Johnson.id be cool with that pick.

They’ve proven to not care. They are picking the best players on their board. They don’t view any of these guys are guys who will start and have success this year except Mazi. Only position that has a shot would be a guard but I really think they plan on playing Tyler Smith there or getting a vet.
more like an open comp at LG with Farniok, chuma, and others and if that doesn't bear fruit you than go get a VET out there, there will be plenty before game 1 that can step right in.. no need to panic

I get it. But the only bell cow running back I saw this year be Bijan, and Dallas never had a shot. Getting a "big" rb instead of one that is quick and has playmaking skills is a mistake, IMO. Heck Luekpe in the 7th is a bigger RB that can block.

Overview
Versatile fullback with experience as a tailback, tight end and Wildcat option. Luepke is a jack-of-all-trades who has posted an impressive touchdown-per-touch ratio as both a runner and pass-catcher. He’s expected to test well and has the ability to compete for reps as a core special-teamer. While he has soft hands and has shown some route-running savvy, he will need to prove himself as a lead blocker if he is to excite NFL offensive coordinators. 6'1" 230lb
Luepke is also fast, running a 4.57 40-yard dash at North Dakota State’s pro day. He also completed the shuttle drill in 4.31 seconds and finished the three-cone workout in 7.03.

So if you want contrast.............

Keep this name in mind … Kenny McIntosh. Dallas visited with him and really liked him

first off RJ is not slow lmao i said big because hes on the flip side of a Pollard you have to have thunder and lightning ie whose running those short yardage and goal line plays.. pollard cant handle it we have tweeners on this roster.

so a bigger back that can hold up doing the dirty work is not a mistake. I watched RJ play hes not slow but hes not the scat back ether.. if you want a true FB go get one in FA UDFA etc but we still could use a back lie RJ who can split carrys with Pollard like down the middle ., he has that skillset to be a starter..

go look at the side by side measurables with Bijon vs Roschon they aren't far off at all so BR was faster in the 40 but they are nearly even in all other drills, size etc RJ is being underrated IMO. i watched them both first hand for 3 years and i can tell you there was little drop off from both, obviously Bijon was better but not as big a gap as you would think. you can draft a guy like that in the 4th-5th, you take him.. he can easily take the ball 15 times game in all situations, not just short yardage.

your guy would be better off slipping into UNDFA territory and pick his team.

I will defer to your thoughts on him as I have only seen a little film on RJ. And if Dallas is looking for a guy that can take Pollards place next year and split time with him, then RJ might be the right pick.

I was thinking more of getting players that were playmakers and were fast and versatile. Either that or role players. Bell cow running backs that can do it all and take the ball 30 times a game are GREAT, if you can get them. But guys who give you the ability to gameplan to beat players on the other team.......sweetness for me.

RJ can run inside I am sure. He is 6' 220lb and ran a 4.58 - 40. Luekpe is faster or at least as fast and bigger.

Him and say a Duece Vaughn (who was incredibly good but small) would be better choices IMO than a single guy. They allow for the power and quickness. Some games you might need one style and as said, contrast.....might need another. Speed/Quickness/Power are the three keys to the game, and RJ might be the better option, but IMO Vaughn/Luekpe would be.
