I didn't recall seeing him yesterday, was he active?

What I did see was A. Johnson getting tossed around like a sock in a dryer. I've seen enough of him.

I think he was active but rotating centers leads to bad exchanges between center and QB. I like Gurode and would not mind seeing him start but glad Dallas stopped rotating them

Just my opinion........but I feel Johnson is actually hurting our running game.........he gets pushed into the backfield too much and blocks the running lanes.

Tuna stated that he made a significant amount of mental errors in the Washington Game for the limited time he played. I think the most visible was the botched QB exchange.

He is officially residing in the OL wing of the Parcells doghouse.

It wasn't the bad snaps that ended the rotation, it was Gurode's mental mistakes.

Same old Gurode.

That's the bottom line.

Not-so-big Al IS our worst run blocker right now. I thought he was last year as well, but he was basically a rookie then. He does not help us establish the run well enough due to allowing penetration into the backfield.

He must get bigger and stronger, or learn a leverage technigue like Fraley with the Eagles. Goes back to coaching maybe.

Johnson is not as bad as ya'll make him out to be. If he gets beat out, he gets beat out...but there's nobody on the team now who's gonna do that.

Yep, Johnson is poor in the running game...
Gurode is a much better run blocker..

I disagree. I wouldn't call him poor. He's no road grader, but he's about league average overall imo.

I called Al Johnson average last off-season and really ruffled some feathers on here.

I was wrong.

He's not even average. His play Sunday was embarrassing.

No, not this year. He was a very good college center at 290 lbs. He still looks 290 lbs. He can be a solid NFL center with the weight training and coaching.

he just doesnt stop making mistakes. it seems like bp really badly wants him to play, even rotating him in, but he blew like his 60th chance last week against the Commanders with a bunch of mistakes.

I thought Johnson played pretty well yesterday. I watched him on every offensive play when I reviewed the game. He got overpowered three or four times -- all by Sopoaga, never by the starter, Adams, and only once on a running play. But he never missed a block and never let his man touch Bledsoe. He played every offensive snap, while Gurode was relegated to blocking on extra points.

Step was a pro-bowler at 265-270lbs. Technique and leverage.

Al just needs to chill out some...Step was real good at chillin.

I've watched every game as well with an eye on the center, Al Johnson has played very consistently. He's played very well in the running game especially when he pulls or is required to get downfield to block on the linebackers.

Where all these ideas about him playing poorly come from I haven't a clue. But since I've never seen one of the posts list any specific play which shows Johnson failing in his assignment, I've just taken to chalking it up to fans who aren't really watching that portion of the game tape. All I can say is the tape I've been watching has show solid play by Al Johnson.

ya Johnson had a solid game, nothing great, but he didnt make all of the mental mistakes gurode would have.

I dont know if anyone remembers who sopoaga was, but hes a freakin superbeast. the guy can get penetration on almost every play it seems like, and he was the guy with most benches during his combine last year. hes freakishly strong(ive seen him in 3 games and why he isnt starting over that weakling Adams is a big question). but dont say Al Johnson got manhandled and is too small, when in reality sopoaga is one of THE strongest players in the league, and IMO could get penetration on almost any center in the league.
