I thought he was supposed to play today. Is his days in Dallas over or did we not play him to give him two more weeks to rest?

Nat?

The bartender on Beverly Hills, 90210?

Dat Nguyen played in a reserve role today and finished with one tackle.

I'd be hesitant to reinsert him into the lineup at this point. Bradie James has really responded well to the role as the defense's quarterback, and Scott Shanle's play has been nothing to sneeze at.

Nothing against Dat, but put him back in there and risk undoing all this defensive progress.

I mean, is it only coincidence that our defense has turned it around since he has been hurt? What, allowing 10, 13, 13, and 13 points? And heck, we really only allowed 3 defensive points to Philly, and I can't blame the defense for the field goal allowed to lose the Seattle game when they were never even on the field following the turnover.

The sad thing about this post and Dat's role/performance is he did play today.

Showed up as much as Al S does.

I think that's being too harsh on Dat, he's just working his way back from the injury. The guy has always been rock solid for us, give him a bit to work back in to the D. Now he may not play so much with James and Shanle playing so well but he'll make plays for us.

Dat Nguyen is a natural 3-4 inside linebacker and he'll return to his starting role whenever the staff feel he's ready.

Scott Shanle has done a solid job in Dat's stead, but he's a better reserve/nickel 'backer than starter, IMO.

The defense will get even better when Nguyen returns to full-time starter status.

Dat had a nice tackle in the 4th quarter in the open-field to prevent a first down. I'm not sure how many defensive snaps he was in on.

what makes shanle less of a lb then sayyyyyyyyy teddy bruschi?

i dont see how anyone can say shanle is more of a backup lb.hes shown in the past few weeks he is a STARTER.

No need to worry. With Al Singleton out with a broken collar bone, the starting LB corps. will now be Shanle, James Nguyen and Ware.

i'm sure they are easing him back in.

no need to go crazy w/ the bye week looming.

I think Shanle and Dat are both good. I am glad to see Fujita in there and glad he will be starting now.

You'll see a healthy rotation of Shanle and Dat the rest of the year IMO.

Keep em both fresh and they'll be playing well.
