of Mick and I'll always be thankful to him for filling the void through the Dallas Cowboys Weekly and later on " The Insider " when the internet wasn't either available ( Cowboys Weekly ) or it wasn't what it is today.

You people that rag on him, more than likely, never experienced what it was like to get Dallas Cowboys news but once a week ( DCW ) during the season, once per month during the off-season, and later on three times per week with The Insider. Mick was considered a god to those of us starving for Cowboys news back in those days.

As far as his style is concerned, it's a bit different from a newspaper writer or columnist. He gets paid by the team, so he can't be " Randy Galloway ". However, he's not a complete " homer " like some of you make him out to be. He'll come down hard on the players when they deserve to, but mostly, his job is to tell us what, basically, the coaching staff and front office is thinking. He was one of Tuna's mouthpieces, which is not an easy club to get in as a writer ( Burger King from CNN, Francesa from the Fan in New York, and some other guy from NJ that I can't remember his name, are the few that I know of ) and although he might not have broken stories, he'll always give you " their " reasoning behind every move.

Personally, I not only want to know what happened, and the Randy Galloways' type opinions, I also want to know " why ", and Mick is good at that.

Yeah he use to send articles to the sporting news also about the Cowboys he was and still is much appreciated.

Does anyone know specifically why Mr. Sunshine hates Marion Barber?

Was there a particular incident, or is he just upset that MBIII doesn't talk to the vultures on the reg?

I've decided to derail this thread by posting Hypnotoad's image:

Take that.

He hates Marion because he only talks to the media once a year. He used to (I say used to cause I dont listen to him anymore, so no clue if he still does) hate on the linemen too, especially Koiser, because they didnt talk to the media either and supposedly Koiser was the ring leader on that policy with the linemen.

Good one. I have him on video saying that it was Anthony Spencer's fault on the Greg Olsen touchdown. And this was after everyone already knew it was Brooking who didn't get the check from Bradie.

Mickey is at Valley Ranch everyday and hasn't broken a story in 20 years.

:laugh1:
he did try to tell everyone about Quincy Carter but no one would listen.

Mickey probably has more raw knowledge about this team than anyone else in the MSM, but he is a horrible writer, a huge homer, and his analysis is severely lacking.

Dont know why people hate on Mickey.

I love listening to him because you are able to get a feel for what the organization really thinks about a player.

Anyone Mickey bad mouths means the organization is souring on him.

People need to learn to use Mickey's opinion as a tool.

Now Mickey, tooting your own horn on these forums isn't going to raise your ratings.
There are better ways to improve your credibility. For instance, when we say "Fire Wade", stop telling us how stupid we are!

Bottom line is what has Wade ever won? Also, has Wade ever really I mean really figured out a way to get the most out of what is perceived as most to be a talented team. A good coach figures a way to take your guys and beat his guys, and then reverse it and take his guys and beat your guys every single time. Wish we had hired Sean Payton when he was here. I think he was able to motivate and also put the hammer down. Wade sadly does neither.

PS. And Mickey is a tool of the Cowboy's. Like him, but just wish he would quit sugar coating all the problems.

His job isn't to "break" stories.

He's Jerry's propaganda agent.

I can't take Mickey too serious because he doesn't really know football outside of the Cowboys.

I listen to Talin' Cowboys on a regular basis and on multiple occassions Mickey has shown ignorance of commonly known stats, players, and teams.

He's a Cowboys' specialist. But if he's approached with a random NFL question you will probably stump him.

Who's the starting running back for the Jets?

Mickey: Oh....uh...what's his name. Curtis Martin.
