But, I am not sure who is to blame any longer. I still say coaching, coaching, coaching. But, heck, after all of that, these players still need to execute.
Coaches have a huge share of the responsibility for execution. They teach the players how to execute, they call the plays that are supposed to put the players in the best position to execute, they are supposed to hold players accountable if they don't execute, they're supposed to instill discipline so players are conscientious about working to execute properly on every play.
The coach is only off the hook if there is a large gap in physical ability, basically.
