What happens if Brady Quinn is at our pick?

This isn't even worth discussing as there's no chance he'll drop out of top ten much less to us.

.....we have a winner.......

Dumbest thread of the day. No way he falls past 10 at the worst. Unless his arm falls off. the way Smith stank the place up certainly dropped him to at best the second rd. Russel is the only guy who has jumped high quickly; and since that really was due to one game, he will come back to earth by April.
BQ is either the first or second QB picked and will not go farther then 5th more then likely.
By the way, for all of you unfamiliar with cowboy QB draft history, may I remind you Jimmy took Walsh in the supp draft since he really was not all that impressed by Aikman.

Brohm is going back to school. Brennan is not coming out. The QB talent just got watered down pretty good. Quinn is not going to fall to us at 22. However, if he did, he'd almost certainly be the highest rated player on our board. If you couldn't work out a nice trade down, then you take him and maybe you don't even try a trade down. Bottom line, if Brady Quinn were to somehow fall to us at 22 and I started crapping Gold Nuggets out my arse and Gisele Bundchen suddenly decieded that she could not live without me, I would draft him without hesitation.

WHY WOULD WE TAKE HIM??
No one can give a good answer other than "good value." But we have no use for him.

It may make Romo think twice about being careless with the ball.

Quinn will not be there. Speculating that he will is pointless. However, in the spirit of the discussion, I find a team looking for a QB and I make another trade like the Bills trade for JP Losman or the Commanders trade for Campbell. In other words I fleece someone.

Quinn will be the overall #1 barring a total collapse at the Senior Bowl or Combines. I don't see it happening. He's the most NFL ready QB of this class.

Brohm and Brennan not declaring really impacts Quinn and Russell. Anyone wanting a QB this year has to target those two so they'll pay a premium.

I'm not high on Russell at all, and I really like Palko and think he's going to be a pretty good QB in the pros but unless he has a great Senior Bowl week, he'll probably go after Stanton.

Really crappy QB class this year.

watch Al Davis keep up his tend of taking great athletes, and take Russell #1 overall

Oakland seriously needs to get a clue and draft some OLs. For all they know, they could have a future HOF QB on there roster right now but there not going to know it when he's on his back immediatly after taking the snap. I don't know what they are going to do but I know this. I like Andrew Walter coming out of ASU. Drafting another QB and sticking him in there, which is exactly what they will do, is not going to improve that team. They really need to aquire some serious help on the OL.

Good analysis. Teams tend to reach for QBs. Oh to have a top 5 pick this year. It could mean a windfall.

nuhuh. Blue Demon was nice thoughtful enough to share the definition of insanity in his whiny little thread:

Have looked at over 50 draft sites- most of the major ones list Quinn as the better prospect- they say that its Al Davis and his fixation with big guys that would prompt him to pick Russel. About 60% of them have Oakland picking Russell; and at least half of those make that kind of comment. Most of the ones that think Russell is better just talk about his potential, rather then what he has actually done so far.
