What happens to the QB position now?

…..nor does the roller coaster and mediocrity since '95, and pre-Dak. JJ has this team half-full/half-empty all the time. His stubbornness and karma has stifled the on-field product, but the off-field dollars with worth has clouded him. We are a laughing stock when you see a Miami team, even a Cleveland team, or Colts, Titans team, and a couple more seasons from the WFT, on the ascending direction that are a player or two away to get them over the hump into contention, for a while. Look at the Bills.....got playmakers. And every time we think of next year.....we get what we're getting now. And every time we hit bottom.....we find a player to cast all the blame on.
bingo, jerry thinks he knows football.

In what universe did some CowboysZone members NOT post threads and comments criticizing Romo's signing--over an EXTENDED time?

I am going on two decades on this site, much of it as a moderator, and this example is one the best fiction I have read here. Ever.

This contract was signed seconds after Romo threw that INT to cost us a playoff spot against the Skins. I was done with Romo. I wanted to change my name to Nomo Romo.

While we loved Romo for his stats, history will remember Romo for 2 playoff wins in 10 years.

i think they could tag him again.

They will want to see how the injury heals. They will know by July if he is ready.

a 3-4 year deal is possible. (The out would be in year 3 or 4. The contract could be longer.)

Dak is half way through his career as a starter. It goes quick. Like life.
Yep but usually like the issues with offensive line and stuff that got Romo what he wanted long term. The ankle injury was the backbreaking experience for Dallas Dallas having duel tag leverage. I don't see Dak resigning the tag. I think they play hardball.

History? lol. Some folks set Tony Romo's quarterback legacy YEARS ago. History is history in his particular case for some.

For those who will eventually reflect, actual history will remember Romo for: a) his true shortcomings as a player; b) overzealous criticism of what coaching and his teammates who were partially or fully responsible for not helping their teams succeed; and c) his post football/television broadcasting career. Truthfully though, some folks were done with Romo fumbling a purposefully slick football, getting tackled short of the endzone, and crying for wanting to score that badly for his team against Seattle many moons ago.

It will be interesting how Dak Prescott's professional football career will be looked back upon after he leaves the game. The one thing he has in common with Romo is the attention from some fans and media alike on a daily basis. I recall an old tweet people posted from a young Prescott criticizing Romo. Bet he never thought he would get the same type of flack thrown at him when he reached the NFL.
