nothing.

new head coach is a reason for excitement.

but the fact is this guy was an ineffective offensive coordinator the past 4 years, besides his first season, thanks to sparano.

cowboys always put up a huge amount of yards..usually top 5, but are around the league average at putting up points.

goal line situations have been handled horribly. clock management has been handled horribly. how is it this team matches their level of competition week in and week out? 6-10 dolphins and 13-3 patriots we play EXACTLY the same

we finished 3rd in the division.

an 8-8 season and 13-11 career record is what garrett has shown you...the jury is far from out on him.

Most people already know this. Is this post just to remind us or.....?

After 24 games what had Jimmy Johnson shown you?

Well, this fan sees much the same things now as I did then. A team in transition and pointing in the right direction. More disciplined, accountable, and not making excuses. I see a team we can be proud of, win or lose, because they are a great bunch of guys on top of being good players. What has he shown me? Hope for the future. If you choose to be blind to it, that is your choice.

Well thank you for asking the question and then answering. I wasn't aware that we nominated you, or anyone else for that matter, to be the official spokesperson for all of us.

Once again you use the bad comparison to Jimmy's early years. The situations are totally different. They can not be compared. Garrett took over a team with some talent. Jimmy came into a complete mess in need of a total overhaul.

And, frankly, who cares about what a great group of guys we have anyway? We want to win football games. Any fan of any team can claim they have a great group of guys. It's a hollow statement.

I can compare them. I choose to. That is my right.

I know that Garrett is a smart guy but I don't know that he can be head coach and Offensive Coordinator at the same time. I know, I know, we hired Callahan but Garrett is still calling the plays and at times his play calling is questionable. I think he will be a good head coach but he has stumbled out of the gate...

So..............time to fire Garrett then?

Because I'm sure that firing head coaches every 3 years is a surefire way to win Super Bowls.

I agree with this

This is the most hopeful I have been about a Cowboys season in quite awhile. I am enjoying watching Garrett learn and watching the team he is assembling. I have hope and that is something I did not have under Switzer, Gailey, Campo and Wade. I had hope during Parcell's first year until I could see that he did not have the drive anymore to really be a Head Coach. Though I still think that he did the greatest coaching job of his career the year he somehow got us in the playoffs with QC at the helm. Garrett is what I want in a head coach and I am enjoying the journey as I feel he will get this team to a Super Bowl win.

garrett turned a cowboy team full old, prima donnas, i dont want to hit anyone...gotta get paid, dominoe playing, water bucket sitting overhyped selfish morons, into a younger hungrier, smarter more talented , and agressive team. Dallas has gone from Camp Cupcake to one where 99% of all players have sold into the offseason workout program and all are working hard. The Jimmy Johnson comparrison is acurate because the winning environment has been established. Winning is actually expected and demanded. Maybe not with Jimmy drinking a heinken putting the fear of God in people but garretts more cerebral way. i for one would like to let garrett get thru atleast 1 full offseason before we march on dallas like the villagers coming after frankenstein.

.

Haven't you seen any of his press conferences? You don't find them exciting. He is 24-0 against the press. He slams them all the time. Those robotic "process" and "stacking wins" responses are a sure sign of pure genius.

Seriously, what has he done so far? Not much other than average. We are all hoping his so-called potential materializes soon. The clock is ticking on his "process." Another year of mediocrity and coaching brain farts and he will be on the hot seat, rightfully so.

Good luck to him. I hope he pulls it all together this year and brings the Lombardi home to Dallas.
