What I Don't Understand About Cowboys Fans?

So because you're a fan of the team that means you have to always think the arrow is pointing up and the status quo is great.

Now that's something I don't understand.
I don't equate arrow pointing up to happy. If you do, so be it.

That's the thing though....the organization most definitely will not be free of that family for the foreseeable future. Which makes me wonder, if you have this type of serious disdain for "that family", why are you rooting for the Cowboys at all? Wouldn't it be more enjoyable for someone such as yourself to just root for a team that has management that you do believe in?

I believe we have some posters here who are not Cowboy fans. They are most likely Commanders fans because Giants and Eagles fans most likely have better things to do.
These Commanders fans pretend to be Cowboy fans on this site and bring nothing but negativity.

This is a very small minority of the negative posters here.

The majority of the negative posters fall into a category who's name violates the profanity rules of the site. Starts with an A, ends with an E. Has a couple S's in it.

These "Category Two" Cowboy fans like to tell you they only want keep things real, refuse to drone along like sheep and of course are only upset because their standards for our Cowboys are so high.

The reality of the situation is they're simply *******s.

Chillax. I don't think he meant anything wrong by it. Don't tell him how you feel about actors. :D

Can I get an "H' for $200?

It comes down to every fan has there view and opinion and express it differently. Some people just like to talk **** online and are negative people. You can get a feel of a person by what and how they post! It just comes with the internet!

I'm not so sure you understood my original post. In my opinion it's quite clear that the point of said post was not to illustrate my level of Cowboy fandom, but to rather attempt to gain an understanding of why some of the existing "fans" seem so bitter with the owner that it would make it appear as though they do not even enjoy being a fan altogether. Make sense?

When in doubt, blame Jerry. Or Romo. Or Ware for not making plays when it counts. Or Dez for not being Jerry Rice in his second season. Or and the list goes on.

Absolutley! We have a lot of members on this site who "think" Jerry should either sell the team or completely remove himself from football operations.

OK I don't agree, but I can respect that opinion. Especially when it doesn't dominate ones self. I get the feeling we have members here who prefer to waking up with a cup of jerryhate to a cup of coffee.

Excuse me Mr Jerryhating Cowboy fan, you have cancer and only 6 months to live........"just as well, I mean Jones is the Cowboys' GM."

Trust me, you can't always get a feel on a poster on the internet. I've tried this with several who look like fine ladies, and it doesn't always work, and maybe that's a good thing. But, okay, what were we talking about again?

I really agree with the above statements and like this line of thinking. To me, this illustrates a true fan- recognizing the faults of the team, but at the same time remaining a supporter. Coming across as perpetually negative makes it seem like it's not even enjoyable.

I really don't know what qualifies you to determine what a real fan is. I've been a Cowboys fan for well over 30 years. If I don't like something about the team I'm going to say it. I would hope that others would respect my opinion, you don't have to agree but I'd hope you could respect it. I will do the same with your Opinions.

I can't stand when people throw out the real fan crap when others don't agree with you. It is condescending , and ignorant to assume you are a better fan because you cheer on the ownership. You aren't a better fan if you look at the team and don't see any issues. You aren't a better or a "true" fan if you cheer on management not sufficiently addressing the oline and dline this off season. There are issues with this team some will talk about them others won't but it isn't my place or your place to question how much of a fan they are.

My guess is they were too young to remember the Bum Bright fiasco

But the OP isn't doing that. I know I've never done that.

Here's a flashback for you.....there were two other prominent businessmen besides Jerry that were in the running to buy the Cowboys....Lakers owner Jerry Buss and billionaire Marvin Davis.

Original Mavericks owner Donald Carter and a consortium of Japanese businessmen too.

With all due respect, did you even read my original post?

I don't think there was any point during this discussion where I claimed to be the final authority on who is or isn't a "real" fan. Everybody's entitled to their opinion, and my definition of a "real" fan is no more valid than yours. I was simply stating that I agreed with Jazzcat22's opinion in the particular post you're quoting. The point of my original post wasn't to berate those who don't agree with me, but to try to understand why some of the perpetually negative and dissatisfied "fans" are even fans of the team, when it appears as though they don't even actually like the Cowboys.

Jerry has definitely made some mistakes, in regards to player personnel. But one thing I always admire about Jerry, is he always pays to keep his star players, and is not afraid to spend money to try and better the team.

o me, being a fan in general is about following and cheering for a team that you believe in, and that you want to see be successful. Some of the perpetually negative posters on here make me wonder- do you even enjoy watching the games? Do you cheer when the 'boys win?

Maybe I'm just weird, but it seems odd to me that some of the "fans" on here don't even appear to enjoy being a fan of the Cowboys.
He did right there

Just seems to me like it wouldn't be that much fun to be a fan if you fall into this category.

Because I live in Arlington.. I would never dream of being a fan of any other team.
