I would sign him to mid tier money, not top quarter due to his injury history. I would sign him to mid tier money and give him incentives that would pay him like a top quarter CB. If he plays then he will get paid like a top quarter player.
Yeah...I am following the logic...we essentially did the same thing with Hardy's one-year deal and of course Sean Lee's contract structure, which has been mentioned in this discussion. Again, I just hope for Mo's sake that the FO has "seen enough" to give him that opportunity...I personally think they have but I also think it will be predicated on the severity of the injury and the prognosis of his full recovery and thus their POV on his long-term dependability...I think Mo deserves such an offer but it's also true the players who've received tiered deals that can POTENTIALLY pay them at elite level (e.g., Hardy and Lee) had much more caché at the time of their offers than Mo has...in other words, Mo hasn't amassed that type of pedigree at this point (accolades, stats, etc.) It's not like he's led (or been near the top of) the league in any notable way, etc. As I've stated, I am pulling for the guy.
