I'm sure this question may have been presented before. Let's just assume that Bledsoe plays well and lead Big D to the playoffs. 10-6 or 11-5...3600 some odd yards 27 TD's and 14 int's 63% CP etc.. you get the idea of what a decent season for him might be like. Undoubtedly, Henson does not see the field yet again. I'm in full support of Bledsoe but does he come back in '06 as the starter? Where would this leave Henson? Any thoughts...?

We better have a better record than 10-6 if he ends the season with those numbers.

The answer to your question is that I would be happy and unless Henson showed remarkable progress during the following offseason would completely support Drew Bledsoe.

If Bledsoe does that he deserves to be called the starter for '06. Those are very, very good numbers. My guess is that it will be more like 3,200 yards... 20TD's and 14INTs and a completion percentage of 56%. That makes him much more like to not have the starter's position just given to him in '06. And if they don't make the playoffs I think the odds are the he won't be back in '06.

I'm going on record to predict Bledsoe to have 24TDs 14 ints, 3400 yards and a 60% completion percentage.

If he does that, I will not mind him coming back to compete for the starting job with whatever young qb we have here next year.

I dont mind him competiting for a startgin job in 06 if henson can grow enough, nobody shoud be given a starting job unles they are the franchsie QB

As long as those INT's don't come at the wrong time, we should be fine.

The bottom line to the question of "What if Bledsoe does well?"....well....the answer is "Let's count our lucky stars.".

I actually think he will be fine now.....as long as our running game kicks butt.

If Bledsoe plays well, regardless of if we make the playoffs, he's the starter next year.

I'd say that is a no-brainer.

I have a feeling that Henson never becomes the QB of the Cowboys.

That's an easy answer. He's back here for another year, with a possible extention.

It won't hurt Henson to sit a little while longer. Remember, Chad P sat for three years......McNair sat a long time.

That type of year for Bledsoe would get us deep into the playoffs. That would also be one of the best statistical passing seasons for a Cowboys QB.

Considering the #'s Quincy put up in '03 I think the #'s I put up are attainable for Bledsoe with a better supporting cast on offense. I guess this could be simular to a Kitna/Palmer situation but of course Henson was not drafted #1 straight out of college. I guess we have to wait and see.

if bledsoe does well we will wait intil he seems like he's losing a step then draft a guy and let bledsoe play that last year then the rookie steps up

I have such a great vibe for this season - I care less than worry about 06 starter. I don't see Henson sitting ever eclipsing a still playing and motivated Bledsoe.

Romo? He has the chance to maybe unseat him in time. Parcells said we are only TWO weeks away from decision.

Knowing Parcells track record - the decision is already made.... Its Romo.

Oh Great Norstradamus...can you pick lottery numbers as well?

:D

Nope on lottery picks

But I'm spot on reading Parcells past 2 years. Henson had better Wow fast or he's #3. Parcells also said he making the decision on #2 and not waffling like he did last year. The math is starting to look like JJ was medling on Henson playing, and Parcells smeared his face in it.. Just like JJ did to ChUTCH IN 2002....

HENSON IS NOT READY - END THE THEATRE!

If we have a good quarterback with numbers like that getting us into the playoffs, then the Henson experiment is put on further hold as it should be.

Henson's no guarantee. You don't oust a better quarterback - as Bledsoe would be performing like that - just for the sake of youth.

I haven't finished my popcorn.

Parcells isn't spot on reading Parcells. As he once said, "I'm not interested in being consistent. I'm interested in being right"

He's a tough guy to figure out.

Juke =

I'll give you my decoder ring. He's actually very predictable. Push come to shove - go away from the obvious. Thats what he'll do. Lean's to his players - Gurode/Johnson is a CLASSIC EXAMPLE! Many are getting sucked into Dre An Gurode. He's a benched Campo guy who mentally has hurt this team.... And Al Johnson will be the starter.....

He will only play young players ready to play over Vets.
Follow that and it gets easy - also leans to Jersey guys and bigger players over smaller players.....
