What if BP is going to mentor Jason?

On a day when everything seems wacky. Maybe BP is interviewing Jason because he will be staying on in some capacity and he and Jerry believe they can mentor Jason into a solid head coach? Why else would BP stay on, interview the prospective coach and it might explain why someone with so little coaching experience is being considered.

Ok I know it is a stretch but things are lining up to look like it is at least possible.

We dont need a coach in training we need someone to come in and get err done.

Assuming everything Parcells says is a lie (retiring from the NFL), maybe.

This is certainly going to rival the firing of Landry for the aftermath. Maybe later it'll just seem funny, but this last week's been confusing for now.

He never said he was retiring from the NFL. He said he was retiring from coaching. JJ also has said he would be continuing to be a part but hasn't said how.

BP is consulting for a week

but if he would stay on in some capacity, I would love it

Not such a stretch and not a bad idea since it actually crossed my mind tonight:).

Not saying I think it will or would happen. It is interesting how Parcells worded his press release. "Retiring from coaching". Leaves a good bit open.

Keeping on Parcels for a few months as a mentor would be invaluable.
Certainly worth a million or so out of Jerry's pocket.
Best part about it is that a friendship could be forged between Parcells and Garrett.
Parcells could be a valuable resource going forward for Garrett. Kind of like how Parcells would bring in Wolf and ....older coach, forget the name.

How about Parcells just does the daily press conferences and leave the coaching to whoever Jerry hires? :D

:) but I meant more of BIll helping out in the offseason w/ player evaluations

Which do you prefer? Jerry making football decisions alone... or having some advice from BP to consider before he decides.

If Jason Garrett is what we get from BP's input, then that fat relic should've been back in Jersey by now.

Hope Garrett gets the job.
Hate to see you without something to b***h about.

What will you do if we actually win the Superbowl in 07?
You may find youself without purpose.:)

I'm sure you'd rubberstamp anything Jerry does. I bet you wet yourself when he named Campo HC.

I think this may be the case. Otherwise, why would Parcells interview the guy?

Every article and interview I have read has said that Parcells has no energy to "COACH." It did not mention anything else.

Maybe Parcells stays on in a front office capacity. Maybe director of players and personnel. Not really a full GM, but he hays say so in the personnel moves and the coaching staff. That makes a lot of sense.

Just my 2 cents . . .

Let me direct you to head of Dallas Cowboys Public Relations, Bill Parcells :)

That would be fun

the ESPN article up now says Garrett was going to be hired as OC even had Parcells stayed on as HC...sounds like this might have been part of the plan all along, and maybe thats why Parcells spent so much time with Garrett today
