What if Dallas really had stayed put and gone BPA with every pick? Now I'm perfectly happy with the draft we had, in fact I love it...but I thought it would be interesting to see how things would have played out.

Rd 1. Brady Quinn - QB - Notre Dame
Rd 2. Ryan Kalil - C - USC
Rd 3. Stewart Bradley - OLB - Nebraska
Rd 4. Doug Free - OT - Northern Illinois
Rd 5. John Wendling - S - Wyoming
Rd 6. Deon Anderson - FB - Connecticut
Rd 6. Ryan Smith - CB - Florida
Rd 7. Courtney Brown - CB - Cal Poly
Rd 7. Chansi Stuckey - WR - Clemson
Rd 7. Brandon Siler - ILB - Florida

Now that's strictly all hypothetical, but it wouldn't have been a bad draft in my eyes.

I bet there will be split decision based on those names... just a guess.

I for 1 am happy with Spencer, good solid OTs, and next years 1st.

Brown may be one of the gems of the second day in this draft. I thought he'd go higher even latter part of the first day. If Anderson makes the team he could be the starter. Now that would be a story.

I'm already penciling in Anderson as opening day fullback. I believe "Bums Boy" will find a way to keep Courtney Brown, he'll be a starter for Dallas in a couple of years...

what's not to love about Brown? big, fast, smart, fluid and was a shut-down and playmaking corner in college, albeit at a lower level of competition, but still

Agreed. I thought Brown would go in the 4th, when he kept falling and falling I kept wanting us to take him. Then when our 7th came around I said to myself, "This has to be it, we take him now."

Brown made the second day for me, he's going to be a good one.

I won't be shocked if he starts opposite TNew in 2008.

not one of them would contribute in 2007, and if Romo plays as expected maybe not ever.

I thought I read somewhere Dallas had him ranked in their top 20 with Bowe and Meachem close

Yeah and Quinn was rated 8, so at that point he was definitely BPA.

I'm not saying we should have picked him, it just makes sense in the hypothetical situation that he would have been the guy.

What's it going to be then, eh?

That is one thing that bothered me about this whole draft.

Once Jones got a taste for trading, he went wild.

Like a drunk after the initial buzz, he could not stop.

He really likes the "wheeler dealer" image.

And in a sick way, I believe he was showing off for Phillips just to see how many times he could make him say "Dadgum! Jerry is a wheeler and a dealer".

So in the midst of his showing off, was there a bad trade?

Just out of curiosity, did you remove all the trades made by all teams beforehand; and then readjusted the entire draft list according to where players wouldn't have been selected because of the trades? Just being picky, I guess, but wouldn't that affect the availability of BPAs according to our original draft order?

I think getting Cleveland's next year's first round pick trumps it all. Everyone saying we should have picked Quinn, imagine that distraction on Romo's first pick, is going to be doing backflips when the Browns go 4-12, and we have a real shot at McFadden.
