What if... Eagles had drafted Akili Smith? They almost did

I have seen him do it more than once.... AND... when the Eagles kicked the game winning FG against the Giants in the playoffs... McNabb looked like he wanted them to miss it.... they when it was made... he gave a half smile and an equally halfhearted pump fist... Garcia was leading them throught the playoffs and McNabb and Momma McNabb wudn't liken it 2 much

like i said, i've seen it enough to note a pattern in his behavior. it gets old for people to think those of us who see it are "wrongly" basing it off ONE event. one event doesn't sum up anyone unless that event is their entire life. a one off is a just that - a one off.

some people act like it just could never happen but it has. go figure.

I've made myself pretty clear in each reply, so apparently no, not everyone gets it.

Way to seek solace in a misguided response.

and who the hell said EVERYONE gets it?

SOMEONE does NOT equal EVERYONE does it?

you and comprehension just must hate each other.

Look, I'm not going to teach you basic English. If you can't recognize perspective in comprehending a sentence, you're on your own.

He doesn't limp when he throws INTs. He pats himself on the chest and says "my bad" (like we didn't already know it). He had legitimate injuries against the Cardinals, Panthers, and Cowboys. The only time he got up after a big mistake and 'limped around' was against the Cardinals (fumbled while his ankle was being broken) and Cowboys (INT to RW31).

Yeah I've witnessed that, or he'll talk to the receiver.

I'm open to what other people have claimed to witness though, I just need to know the season, and game he supposedly faked injury after a pick or some other mishap. Being a Dallas fan in Eagles territory, I've seen just about all his starts, so I'll probably know the play, and circumstances around it as soon as its brought to my attention.

Just cuz, and I saw it several times isn't enough to sway me.

 So from memory everybody has to suddenly pick the season, game, and exact time it happened? Just because you have this man crush on McNabb? I once walked in on my mom and dad getting it on, just because I don't know the exact year and day it happened doesn't mean they didn't and they haven't since..... I don't know exact games, but I know I've seen it atleast 3 times the past 2 years, where he looks just fine before an interception or bad play and as soon as it's over he'll limp to the sidelines as if he was hurt and that was the cause.

Get it through your head that nobody is saying he's faked some major injury that put him on the IR list. We're saying whenever there is a bad play he blames it on an legit injury that he's been playing through or he plays it off as if it's the result of some minor ailment that may or may not really exist... geez

The man has guts and plays through injuries, but if he has a bad play he'll also be the first to blame it completely on that injury.

Again, the basis for my argument isn't what you're implying. I've never seen him fake any kind of injuries at any point in games no matter the circumstances, and I'm looking for someone that has seen different, to give me some specific instances.

In an earlier post I threw up a few instances where he was injured, and specifically the Cardinal game where he fumbled, or through a pick, and limped off. I wasn't accusing anyone of saying he faked those injuries, I was drawing back on my memory of when I witnessed him injured. I should have left out the "no indication of that being fake" comment so not to confuse somebody like yourself who wasn't following the thread, and formed the wrong opinion of my argument.

Let me make this clear, again. I've never seen him fake an injury at any point in a game regardless of how he's playing.

I've seen him take full responsibility everytime they lost, I've seen him dismiss injuries, and say they didn't impact his play.

I have a pretty good memory, but also an open mind. If others seen different than me I'd like to know when it occurred.

except i don't live in a world of ONE EVENT dictating an entire character. i never have and am not now. i've seen him do it A LOT.

look around - others have also, so it can't be just a "myth" from ONE event.

sorry, but i'm way beyond defining people from 1 event, so you're wrong.

Maybe you're not, but an example of him limping after an INT with no prior indication of injury would sure help. If it's happened as often as you imply it wouldn't be a difficult or unreasonable request.

I suppose his season high 5 rushing attempts earlier in the game made no never mind to that abdominal injury.

Our player just gave him little mosquito bites, in their mercy.

I guess it would depend on the details each rushing attempt, but I know he began limping after at least one run for a first down. Of course there are distinct differences in the amount of strain on your lower abdomen between moon-walking, running straight ahead, and being hit while you're running with your hips open. Since the details of Mcnabb's injury and the things that aggravated it (like opening up his hips) were well publicized at the time, it seemed reasonable that he could have re-injured it on that play. He's been known to compete in pain through good (02 Cardinals) and bad (03 Panthers, most of the 2005 season). I'm skeptical of claims that consistently feigns injury after interceptions and mentions them to excuse his play, but quite open to any substantive evidence to the contrary.

Your recollection is contrary to his public statements during the 2005 season where he made every effort to _not_ blame the injury for the uncharacteristic number of mistakes he had made. This was done in the face of insistence by local fans and media that his injury was to blame. Sorry, perhaps you were only exaggerating for effect but "if he has a bad play he'll also be the first to blame it completely on that injury" is demonstrably false (if necessary).

some people memorize plays for a living.

i'm not one of those people. this is my general impression of mcnabb and if it bugs you and others as much as it seems to i'm going to have to suggest therapy.
