It's highly unlikely but what if somehow Pitts fell to pick 10. Most agree that our defense is broke but by almost any rankings Pitts would be the BPA. Here is one possible draft in that scenario. I traded R6P8 and R3P35 with the Jets for R3P22 to take the safety Jevon Holland.

10:R1P10 TE Kyle Pitts Florida
44:R2P12 CB Tyson Campbell Georgia
75:R3P75 DL Milton Williams Louisiana Tech
86:R3P22 S Jevon Holland Oregon
115:R4P10 CB Benjamin St-Juste Minnesota
138:R4P33 OT Jaylon Moore Western Michigan
179:R5P35 LB Buddy Johnson Texas A&M
227:R6P43 LB Isaiah McDuffie Boston College
238:R7P10 DL Quinton Bohanna Kentucky

I take him without blinking.

I don’t think Holland will be at 75. I take an edge rusher there and go Cisco or Johnson in the 4th.

You can get a better corner then Campbell who I see as more of a 3rd rd pick. Forget about doubling up at corner, we need more DL help that just a late selection.

I like Johnson better anyway I'd take him over Holland.

I see Campbell as a future starter who would you prefer? Forgot Williams at R3P11, not awake yet.

It works to take him. Lots of picks to beef up the defense. My prob with this one, even though I like basically all the players, is there's not enough done for the DL. Think we have to take a DE and DT between rounds 2 and 5, if we want a good one.

If we don't go CB in one or two, I'm happy to wait until 4 and get a guy like St. Juste and sign Sherman to start

My bad, not quite awake, I forgot Williams at 75.

Yeah, 2nd CB plus Diggs, Brown, Lewis and Robinson is good enough, but if Lawrence gets injured or Gregory gets suspended we have nothing on the edge.

So you would be comfortable with Brown and Diggs starting on the outside and drafting a developmental CB as a backup? I think they lost a starter in Chido and to even stay the same he would need to be replaced by someone who could start.

No, my post was intended to say “2nd round CB” plus all the guys already on the roster.

That makes sense. Some people have Campbell ranked lower but NFL has him fifth with a starter grade and most of the others were taken. He needs work on technique but I think he could be a good starting outside corner.

In this scenario I would go Pitts and if you’re dead set on going CB in 2 I would go Melifonwu in 2. I’d rather Pitts, Holland, sign Sherman and go CB in 3.

I like him too but he was taken already

Agree, need more focus on the DL. I would target Safety in rd 2, corner in rd 3 and load up on the front 7 the rest of the draft.

Stokes, Melifonwu, Joseph.

Someone said, Campbell gave up more passing yards against Bama then Stokes did all yr. Teams went after Campbell far more as he struggles to locate the football.

According to my big board here are the CB with starter grades in order. Campbell was the only one left at 44.
Surtain 7.02
Horn 6.46
Newsome 6.4
Farley 6.38
Campbell 6.33
Stokes 6.31
Mellifonwu 6.30

My opinion is Joseph is a backup with character issues. The other two I had ranked lower but they were gone anyway.

Outside the top 3, all those corners, including Joseph have an excellent chance to be there at 44. Don't forget about the smaller players that will have some of these players fall like Samuel, Molden and Robinson. The corner position could be rated totally different team to team, base on what type of player fits their scheme. Think Dane has 12 corners rated in the top 60. Can they all start, most can at least yr 1.

Have you watched Joseph? He is very talented. Based on tape alone, many think he is a 1st rd player. He does give many Marcus Peters vibes on and off the field, but Peters has been a very good pro, although he wears out his welcome.
