I never understood that excuse. You're paying him regardless. So what's the difference? The objective is to win.
Do I need to tell you the Love Field credit card story again? Sounds like you need that brutal lesson again.

The issue will be if Romo is healthy will he be Romo? Will he be rusty? How will it affect the team? If Romo struggles how will we know when to go back to Dak? What happens when we go back to Dak? What happens if Dak then struggles if he doesnt play for a month?
All good questions.

Lets say Garrett, Linehan and some team members want to keep rolling with Dak, but Jerry and Stephen want Romo to take over in a couple weeks. How does that play out?

That could play out either way. You would think Jones would voice his opinion but let the majority opinion rule.
However, I have seen him go against coaches wishes in the past before Stephen had his current stronger position.
T.O. comes to mind.

Not sure. If you saw the injury graphic from the game yesterday, it was pretty much the two broken collar bones prior to this current injury. The rest of his issues are overblown. I don't really think he's at much elevated risk of injury over any other player his age at his position, honestly. I know everybody thinks his spine is made of styrofoam at this point, but that's not really anything I lose sleep over.

What I do wonder, though, is how much the time off is going to affect him. He's missed a lot of game time at this point, his skill players are all used to a different signal caller, it's not going to be the seamless. I also wonder how he reacts to the competition from a younger player for the first time.

My best guess is that he rises to the challenge competition wise, after 2-3 games where he's fairly rusty but still playing well. We're going to need the best Tony Romo can give us for games like the MIN and PIT games coming up. Everything else is a game I think Dak gives us every bit as much of a chance to win as Tony does. If I"m coach, though, I'm tempted to sit him through the PHI game, though, if we win in GB. CLE is a good game to get back up to speed with. Taking a 5-1 team and putting Tony in after the bye against the Eagles and having him struggle for a week would start everybody howling, and maybe rightly so. Getting Tony up to speed v. a weaker opponent and playing to his usual level not long after that and I don't see how anybody seriously complains about the decision.

If the rust creature cost us a game or two that could be eliminating

If Romo goes out there and gets close to paralyzed, this franchise will have some serious answering to do. The guy should not play this year, and this is just my opinion. The hits Dak has taken would put Romo in a coma, and that's not considering that Romo takes WAY MORE risks to his body than Dak does.

LOL....rhetorical question? JJ signs the checks my man. Romo will be back. I think Dak should play until the Cleveland game personally. If they bring TR back vs. Philly it won't go well. Ease him back vs. the Brownies for crissakes.

I think the notion that Jerry is this authoritarian unilateral dictator runs contrary to all available evidence. Sure he will go Maverick every now and then particularly prior to Parcells but how many stories have we heard from all different scenarios since then from CBA to the draft to FA where he seeks consensus.

Unlike most men, Jerry does seem capable of change. So many people seem blind to the fact that things and people evolve over time.

If Garrett, Linehan, etc want Romo I don't see him contradicting them. If that were the case Manziel would be a Cowboy and his son would not be as omnipresent as he is.

So you actually think Jerry calls up Garrett and tells him who to start every game?
The "wow" belongs to you in this case.

Earth to you. Jerry sits in on coaching staff meetings for a reason.

You are truly delusional if you think Jason Garrett dictates who starts.

That may be the case now. 5 years ago Jerruh gets what Jerruh wants come hell or high water. Stephen had to wrestle Manziel's draft card out of tipsy Jerry's hand on draft day. That's how close it was....
