So long as the teams in DFW I will follow them. While I like the classic white uni's a really cool Black jersey could be cool.

After reading your amazing responses on the Define your passion post.... i came to think what IF, some of the key elements of the cowboys changed.

So, I came to this..

1. What if the cowboys ever changed cities. i.e. LA Cowboys, Austin Cowboys, San Antonio Cowboys just an example.. would you follow them still?

2. What if the Cowboys changed colors and beocme.. lets say.... blue and black.. or something different?

3. What if the Cowboys changed the logo.. to a more "modren" star?

Would you still be a cowboys fan?

I stil dont know myself... i think no...

I AM A COWBOYS FOR WHAT COWBOYS WERE, AND ARE!!!

How much more modern can this get. Other than one with the type of flames coming out of it, like the Titans.

It just wouldnt be the same guys... right?

Take the Texas for example, I have a feeling that that franchise is doomed to failure and mediocracy, i think they will eventually move Cities!

I agree about the Texans. I realize there is a lot of Cowboy-envy in Houston but putting another pro football team in Texas is FLAT OUT WRONG. Texas is a BIG state but there's only room for one team. Everyone knows that the entire state of Texas and most of the entire region (Oklahoma, New Orleans, Arkansas, New Mexico, Mexico, Kansas) are overwhelmingly Cowboy fans. I think the only Houston fans are actually IN that city. Go outside of it and its Cowboy country again.
I'm still furious at the stupid Texans because like you said, they are doomed to mediocrity. They are never going to have success IMO. They are a small market team, VERY small. The reason I'm mad at them is that they've wasted top 5 draft picks about every year since their inception. They dilute the league talent by existing. They got to steal players from other teams their first year.
What's funny though is that they will have to change their logo and name when they are forced to move cities. "Los Angeles Texans" doesn't really sound right.

I dont hold anything against the Texasns but there are things that I dont agree with.... to mention a few

1. It is obvious that they wanted to draw attention and make an appeal with peopole bhy naming themeslves "Texans" that is just worng IMO. Not being a US citizen, I can tell you that when I travel to most Texas cities, even Houston, I see alot MORE Cowboys marketing, following and propaganda, for obvious reasons of course.

2. Having them use the colors of USA AND TEXAS was IMO a calculated move. The name texans, the logo resembling the texas flagg. And the cow.. damn wrong very wrong.

3. The Oilers were a much more original and traditional team, IMO, and they moved for a reason. I dont think the Texans will EVER make any significanse in the league.

FOREVER COWBOYS!

I agree, the Yankees will never leave New York, the Packers will never leave Green Bay (even though Green Bay is a pretty small town), and the Dallas Cowboys will never leave Dallas.

Ummm.... moving the Cowboys could be considered the same as moving Austin to Louisiana. :D

I feel the same, even if they changed or altered their uniforms (classic home whites) or changed their Dallas name in Dallas Cowboys a piece of me would die aswell. All the tradition would be dead and gone, it would even hurt to see old superbowl highlights of our championships.

I feel for the old Cleveland Browns fans and I hope we never have to go through what they had to go through. I wonder if it has a different feel for them with the "new" Browns being there.

I think it would hurt alot more for us because of all the Superbowls, history, great players and the incredible amount of popularity world wide.:star: Oh and DON'T EVER TOUCH THE STAR OR THE UNIFORMS! EVER.

A)The plausibility of the Dallas Cowboys ever moving is nil. This IS the most elite of the elite teams in the league. Tradition and history ARE the Dallas Cowboys in this country. Without the Dallas Cowboys there is no NFL... the entire league's integrity would be compromised.

B) A change in Uniform. Hmm. I think someday the home uniform will be altered in some way that will also reflect the team's past. One thing will never change and that is the helmet. I could see a black jersey color combo on the horizon as an alternate jersey, which I think would be very very cool. I could maybe even see a Silver jersey ala the Patriots even tho that really is kinda suck. I think our retro jerseys are great and deserve to be played in.

A more modern star? How. I have always privately seen the Cowboys star over the years and its always new to me in its simplistic perfection- while helmet patterns and facemasks change I love the bright silver contrasted with the outlined Cowboys star. On sunny days, there is no uniform better.

I also love when we get to wear our blue jerseys even tho we seem to play horribly in them lol

I would put up with any changes so long as they don't leave Dallas. If they left Dallas it would tear my heart out. I've never lived in Dallas, but the mystique would be gone if they moved.

I would not follow the "LA Cowboys", and would probably stop watching NFL football altogether.

This team would never be the same in heart and soul. I do not see this franchise ever moving. It would be financial suicide. Do you envision the Pittsburgh Steelers moving out of the state? The Miami Dolphins. Now the NY Giants moved to the Meadowlands in New Jersey but come on that is literally right next door. That part of New Jersey is like an extension of New York City.

Our team is moving by the way. From Irving to Arlington. To a brand new near billion dollar stadium. I do not think any Cowboys fan has much to worry about them moving any time soon under these circumstances.

Also I would like all of us to think about what Jerry Jones really has meant to the Cowboys and fans. Sure he is not perfect and has made his share of mistakes. But he brought us Superbowls and always is putting his money where his mouth is, unlike other dispassionate bean counter owners.

The Dallas Cowboys are a family invested business. Another reason to believe that they will be here long after you and I and our children have died.
Someday one of Stephen Jones' children will be owner of the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys are their life force.

It would be a huge mistake is the Cowboys changed anything regarding their name or uniform. That, and their great history, is why they are the most important team in the NFL. It would be like changing the American flag.

I like to see how we all agree that all of the Dallas Cowboy's elements make the team unique in the Entire NFL.

Teams move for two reasons, money and new stadium.

1. The team is moving, going to Arlington to play in a spaceship-looking stadium.......freaking sweet looking!!!

2. Teams move because of money, specifically a lack of money. The Boyz are are a freaking cash cow, one of the richest franchises in the league.

Dont worry, the Boyz will be kicking tail for many decades to come!!!:starspin
