What if the situation with the Clippers happened with the Cowboys?

Pray4LA ?

Because some racist guy got caught being racist?

The idiot is gone ....... the city of LA will be as fine as it can be.

This is not a tragedy ........ just an idiot getting what he deserves.

If Jerry Jones made the comments Sterling did, the media would explode in such a way that it would make the current fascination with Sterling look like a Sunday school picnic.

Fortunately I don't believe Jerry, for all his faults, even remotely feels the same way as Sterling.

Stay on topic or the thread will be closed.

Drinks would be one me! I would be celebrating, getting rid of Jerry would is the only way the Cowboys will have a chance to win another Super Bowl. :)

I would love having Magic Johnson as our owner.

He is all about winning, ... he realizes that he isn't a football guy (unluck some owners) ... and he would bring in what he perceived to be the best GM that he could find.

He would then stay out of the way and do all of the things that owners do, .. and very well I might add, I am sure.

Are you responding to a post... where did the Pray4LA thing come from?

The same thing that happened to Sterling(banned and fined), with the possible exception on forcing him to sell the team by owner's vote. What Silver is doing is backed up by the NBA constitution, and I'm not sure the NFL's is the same.

In case im tripping and you DIDNT just delete my comment..This IS a real life situation, a situation that could happen in Texas just as well as it happened in LA, It is the south STILL....

I deleted your comment. I deleted it because of the "Still The South" reference. I see no reason to paint a broad brush stroke over a huge part of America for no other reason then geographic location, nor do I really see the need to compare the Jones family to Sterling. If this happened......... well, the truth is that it hasn't happened since Jerry has owned this team and so I see no good reason to consider it. Would be different if Jerry had shown himself to be this type of person in the past but I see no evidence of it. To me, this is just subjecting Jerry to criticisms he does not deserve by comparing him to Sterling. That is my view on the subject. Brain had nothing to do with deleting the earlier post. That was all me.

I would look at the league and team demographic, and quickly make the determination that whatever opinion the owner has is not manifesting itself in a way that is harming black players.

I would secretly cheer that he is removed from power, because I think I would personally benefit from it, but I would not agree with it from a moral/legal standpoint…kind of like anti-smoking laws in bars. Benefits me – secretly cheer for it, but don’t agree with the law itself

I see what you did there. :)

What I find funny is that the League actually gave Sterling CP3 and never even blinked twice. The Lakers had a deal for CP3 worked out and the League stepped in and nixed it. Turned around and allowed the Clippers to sign him. It's all funny to me and not in a Ha-Ha kind of way but I'm a Laker fan so I'm probably sucking on Sour Grapes.

This may be one of your best posts.

The blocked trade is messed up for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with what's currently going on. I couldn't believe it when it happened.

I thought it was dumb at the time, the block of the trade, not the subsequent trade that occured. I'm not a Lakers fan but I realize, people hate the Lakers, they really do and they do a lot. To this day, people will tell you how lop sided the Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown trade was, but to be honest, Marc Gasol is better than the Pau Gasol the Lakers got, due to age. Now Pau was a much better fit due to his passing ability, but Marc Gasol isn't just a throw in.

And because the league owned the Hornets at the time, they couldn't take the backlash. I don't remember what the Lakers offered, but in the end, I'm not sure what New Orleans got from the Clippers besides Eric Gordon.
