What if the situation with the Clippers happened with the Cowboys?

Didn't do well the first go on this - take two.

It's not necessary to wait for Jerry Jones to have a personal/moral scandal.

Being an unrepentant racist is not the same as being an incompetent GM, but both are unacceptable.

Sterling is higher on the scream level, but fans and sponsors should have shouted "Enough!" already for his football incompetence.

It's not the same kind of affront as bigotry, but statements to the effect the Cowboys are TV's biggest show, and people will watch even if they are .500 deserves a muscular "NO!" from fans and sponsors like they one we had this week at Sterling. It's not just what Jerry says, but his years of implementing dysfunction.

It would do exactly nothing to me as far as being a Cowboys fan goes. I'm a fan of the team not the person who owns it.

Sponsors like money and hate controversy. As long as Jerry doesn't do something to alienate a substantial portion of the sponsor's target audience or get them bad press by association, they couldn't care less what product he puts on the field.

Nope. Not even in the same galaxy.

I'm not sure how the guy can really be considered an outright racist when it's pretty obvious his girlfriend isn't white.

An ******* elitist is highly possible but I don't think you're dating females who are obviously of two races if you hate one of the races.

That's just my opinion anyway.

From what I gather, Sterling has a history of saying racist and outlandish statements that have long gone ignored. I can't find the specific quotes at the moment, but his views aren't new.

In 2006 the U.S. Dept. of Justice sued Sterling for housing discrimination. He allegedly said that "Black tenants smell and attract vermin."

This is something I brought up, I see that most of LA stood by that notion. I am happy for them, but I swear it sure would be hard.

Ahhhh...well that's what I get for not being informed nearly enough on this guy. I'd never even heard of him until like 2 days ago.

WOW some of members of the board are really that head strong to bring up the fact that you hate the GM, even in a post that has to do with a moral issue?

"WOW" - people on this board skim a post in two seconds and say crazy things.

Just saying owning a sports team is not like a personal possession, have to consider the fans, players, and sponsors, so it's not exactly yours to do as you please. There is very little accountability for them, but that needs to change.

I'm amazed at the addiction of some fans that will tolerate a cancer that will prevent this team from being excellent/great again.

If you have that much of a problem with that damn owner then STOP rooting for the team, I bet in the 90's you didnt have an issue with Jerry, I bet when Parcells came aboard you aint have a problem with Jerry. This aint a bash Jerry post. This is a wwud if this situation in LA happened in Dallas post...

In case im tripping and you DIDNT just delete my comment..This IS a real life situation, a situation that could happen in Texas just as well as it happened in LA, It is the south STILL....

I don't see where in this day of age being in the south would matter one bit.
Maybe we are talking 98.5%% vs 99%, I don't know, but the overwhelming vast number of people know that Sterling's comments were totally unacceptable.
And that "right wing" comment is out of line too.

Furthermore, is there anyone in this forum that thinks Jerry has been faithful to his wife their entire marriage?

Come on, enough with The southern stereotypes.
To some degree it's kind of like the stuff we are complaining about.

Now WHO is emotional?

The thread title is about if there was an owner scandal in Dallas....it's unlikely it would be just like the one in LA. In fact, you explode when I suggest Jerry's football "expertise" is scandalous and accuse me of supporting him when things are going well. I was in a "show me" mode in the 90's until he had his divorce with Jimmy. Likewise, I was hoping he had a football come to Jesus moment when he hired Parcells, but again he was not completely out of the picture.

Another poster commented recently he suspects Jerry has operatives here trolling on his behalf - you're convincing me it's true.

If you're taste on everything else is consistent, you buy hail-damaged cars and produce with bugs.
