He is a run-stuffing tackling machine. Miami Dolphins linebacker Jacob Rodriguez is off to an excellent start to his NFL career. Despite the team's 0-4 start, he ranks second in the NFL in tackles as Week 5 approaches. Rodriguez is a strong candidate to stay in the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year conversation all season.

If we had drafted him, we would have been tougher against the run.

I was begging for him. I was also begging for a trade with Miami for Jordyn Brooks. What a shame the Cowboys got neither of them.

I'm just shocked that he fell to the second round. I know LBs are devalued in the league, but Rodriguez had "tackle machine" written all over him.

He looks like a golfer in pads but I watched his highlights last year and was like gimme dat guy he had honey badger esque instincts and that’s how u win

His plays style looks infectious

What doesn’t help is a workout warrior always on the sideline that’s just debilitating

Hindsight is 20/20 BUT I did a vast number of mock drafts using the mock draft generator. Based on what I believed I knew about players in the draft, I felt like the Cowboys best option was multiple trade downs. A trade down from 12 would have obviously netted the most picks due to the value of pick 12.

I understand why the Cowboys felt like they couldn’t trade down from Downs and traded up to get him. Having said that if we had followed my trade down scenarios and picked the players I prioritized I think we would have been better off BASED ON EARLY RETURNS and the relatively small sample size.

If Lawrence turns out to be the next DWare then they were right and I was wrong. But the guys that seemed to be concensus picks are playing much better than the average draftee.

I preferred him over Lawrence but I like what I’ve seen from Lawrence. No issues with taking Lawrence over him. If we had Rodriguez I still feel we are 2-3 so there’s that.

He wouldn't have made a difference on this defense.

Every problem on this defense stems from the fact that they cannot cover anybody and he doesn't really help solve that.

They're getting killed with runs up the middle... again! I think Rodriguez would have helped the defense there.

Don’t play what it’s. It’s a waste of time.

Lol.

Why does it matter? Everyone who is posting on this board is wasting time in general. Including yourself.

You need to stop with the superiority complex and quit telling people what to do all of the time.

Eh, I liked Rodriguez in the draft but they still got Barham a full round later and he's 2 years younger so I'm okay with the way it went. Barham is still developing but he has shown enough flashes so far
