What impact did Price have?

He was on the field for 3 or 4 plays and was involved in two, the drive killer on the -1 yard screen and he was a decoy in the flat on the corner pass to Johnson.

We can assume he took Polite's spot so how much impact did he have on our running game?

I'd say a bit in lead blocking, we also lost the option of a quick hitter to the FB up the middle.

We will never know for sure, but Reeves appeared much more active on special teams. We know Davis was on coverage teams.

Did those increased plays impact our substitution packages and coverage options late in the game?

Did Williams have to play more defensive snaps, then normal because his back ups played more on special teams?

Did Glenn?

Did those few extra snaps make a difference on a field with a 100 degree temp?

Tough call for Sunday, but keep in mind why we signed Price. For insurance.

Now I know some will say, "But we are paying him all that money."

Well, I hate paying car insurance every year and never putting in an accident claim too, but that does not make me drive my car into a tree to make sure I get my money's worth.;)

BZ - Move on - you were dead wrong on him dressing Monday.

The mistake if any was not rotating him in there more and getting Key a breather.

Just going to say it like this, I doubt he is up to speed on the entire offense so decoy, etc. is about all he will contribute at first.

I can be patient, but I'd like to get Polite back for lead blocking.

I didn't see the point in activating him then only playing him a couple of snaps. I also didn't see the point in de-activating our only FB.

Yet another of those Parcells moves that leaves me scratching my head.

Where were the rampant 3 and 4 wide sets and no-huddle offense Nors?

To use your old trick, based on the outcome, I was SPOT ON in him not being active.

Unless you think 1 catch for -1 yard and that play killing momentum on a drive that ended in no points was valuable.

This is basically a repost of a thread I started the morning after the game. He contributed nothing. He contributes nothing. He brings nothing the team doesn't already have. He takes away from either special teams or the running game. That's all there is to it. Anything else is fantasy until he can somehow prove otherwise.

First of all, he aint gonna prove anything if we dont get him on the field. He was proven at Buffalo, so we know he's a good player. As far as the screen goes, we could have ran that same play with randy Moss or T.O. cathcing the ball and they result would happen. I blame the play call on that, when have we ever this year got results from a screen of any kind? I say brings a lot to this team on the basis of.........HELLO, you cant have too many good WRs. As far as not having a FB, last time I checked, Dan Campbell is a pretty damn good blocker, run pass, or anything else you could make up, he can block!! I was happy to see Price in there, but I wasnt happy with the plays that he got.......

Until the coahcing staff has confidence in him to be on the field for more than 2 or 3 plays, keep Polite activated, someone who will actually make a difference.

Price does nothign but add depth. With Witten, Glenn, Johnson and even Crayton, Price isn't gonna have a huge role ever of this team.

When do we even try to throw the ball down the field? Oh well besides the "trick" plays.

I feel sure that one of the big reasons he was brought in, is because he gives another deep threat to be able to do just that, throw the ball down the field. If he is on the field, he is a deep threat, simple as that.

simple math here guys......1+1+2, now what that means is that when you have 2 deep threats on the field at the same time, you have a better chance of getting the deep.

I know some people need real simple terms, so there it is. Maybe it will clear the fog outta there.

For the rest of us, I probably am not the only one that thinks having to burners on the field gives us the advantage, I mean, with Glenn and Price in their both, they arent going to know which side to cheat too, because it go either way, and as we all saw on Monday, a fration of a second makes a big impact when the ball arrives before the defender and the WR can jet.

I still love the irony of someone taking a shot at others for needing "simple terms" and then writes a post like that one.;)

We should have run a few deep routes having him come in for keyshawn then if they do cover out two deep men, dump it off to Witten or Jones. But no, Payton might as well have been Campo.

It really does not matter if he is active or not...until Payton opens up the playbook it's a useless discussion.

On top of that - THROW THE DAMN BALL DEEP then. You brought him in for his speed, then use him as a decoy whilst deactivating your FB.

You tell me.

More irony still.:D

Here is what you wrote:

I added the w.

I should have nailed you for the run on sentence and the lack of a comma in the next one too.:lmao2:

Now there's a concept that should be deployed!
