Dude…we’re calling teams with Mahomes, Allen and JD5 running teams? You’re talking about 3 of the best QBs in football right now.

Are they good running teams? Yes, but that doesn’t make them a “running team.”

The Eagles? Sure…Jalen is mediocre but he still has elite offensive weapons to move the chains when needed.

Again I’m all for getting better at running the football but winning as a running team would be an outlier type scenario.

What happens in the playoffs when you run into a buzz saw defense against the run and the best way to beat them is to attack their secondary but you only have 1 good player to throw it to? The 49ers happens…
You also can’t even consider being a running team until you have an elite defense…we’re not even close.

Dude Daniels broke the rookie rushing record, Mahomes passing stats are average. The Chiefs have been a ball control defensive team for the last two Superbowls, Buffalo had the best running quarterback this side of Lamar/Cam in the history of the league. Nobody is throwing the ball or have complicated passing offense in this playoffs. The Rams, Bengals, and Lions are home with the Cowboys. 3 of best passers/questionable. 4 of the best running quarterbacks no doubt.

Everyone but Hurts is top 10ish in passing TDs, yards, etc…

I couldn’t disagree more if you think all
of the best teams in football are “running teams.” They play good defense, have good run games but also have very high level QB play with weapons everywhere.

And even if you don’t agree with that it’s borderline irrelevant because e don’t have a Lamar like QB or an elite defense…which you essentially would have to have to be a serious contender as a running team.

Hurts is not as bad as he appears. He like a running version of Purdy/Dak combine. The kid gets it. Wish there was more people like him in football.

We can agree to disagree. As long as we are cool with each other. Same with CowboyNY. I will always respect your opinions. All four of these teams are built like we wanted the Cowboys to be built. Top end defensive tackles. Great coordinators on both sides of the ball. Not afraid to use free agency with the draft to build a roster.

Yea - great teams play good defense and are multiple in that can throw and pass depending on what the game calls for.

Our defense and run game are mediocre at best and against playoff caliber teams we can’t move the ball through the air well bc we have no one outside of Lamb.

We might not agree on the run team thing but I think we’d agree we need more talent just about everywhere.

Could Rex possibly be our new defensive coordinator? Broaddus said that there is no way Zimmer will come back under Brian. Those were some of the better Jets teams in the 2000s.
Absolutely he could be in play, but also don't rule out Carroll becoming the HC with Schott as his OC, they have worked together in Seattle.

I will wait to the coaching process is completed but let’s just say I am looking forward to the 2026 draft. Our schedule is brutal next season.

That response aged quickly. I think we know who the Cowboys coach will be now and it’s not Deion or Kellen.

Just saw the news, cross that out, lol. Agree, it's Schot job now, wonder who they hire for the DC/ST jobs. Expect to see a run heavy scheme coming. Think Jeanty and the top offensive lineman are all now in play at 12.

Is that a bad thing. McCarthy wanted us to air it out like we had a healthy Gallup and prime Cooper. Look, Russ looked his best under Brian. The problem with your draft scenario is that Jeanty and Banks are unlikely to make it to 12. Jerry will reach for something like Campbell or Hampton. What a disaster that would be.

If they want to play that type of style, you are going to need a strong defense. Even if those offensive players are gone, you can still draft a quality DT to help shore up the run defense. Perfect world a Hampton, Johnson makes it to our 2nd rd pick.

If teams didn’t suck so bad in front of us we might have been able to get an early second round pick. These new front offices know how to tank while the Joneses are old school and try to win. Why on earth do you trade for wide receiver when your franchise quarterback is out for the season. It is scary how the rumors about the Cowboys coaching seems to be true. They actually thought McCarthy would take a two year deal to mentor Witten. You can’t make this stuff up.

We have become the Al Davis Oakland Raiders. Funny thing is, I don't think it's Jerry is the one to blame, it's his son Stephen.

In my opinion, DC's around the league have used shell coverage to take away the pass, teams are forced to pass underneath and run the football against the light boxes. Run game and yac receivers are benefitting. All 4 team remaining are excellent run teams, but they also have the ability to beat you with their passing games if you hedge on stopping the run.

Jerry is to blame because he said he makes the final decisions. He is one complaining about coaches contracts and loyalty. Jerry has gone full Al Davis. Don’t get me wrong Jerry, Jerry Jr., and Stephen are the three stooges.

It’s honestly sad…longest NFCC drought in the league.

Were the laughing stock…and Jerry still doesn’t get it.

Reason why I wanted a HC who convince them that they have to change the way they build and run the team. They just never have a plan in place and have short term thinking

Deion would bring a circus but I think his confidence level and ego would at least tell Jerry how it needs to be.

You know I wanted BB or Saban. They had the hardware and the clout really to make Jerry listen. Schott is an more experience Garrett who will let Jerry run the entire show.

You might’ve been right bud - I think they might’ve been outdated but at least would’ve have put up with BS as long as they had good coordinators.
