The Cowboys need a significant upgrade on the interior of the D-line. A rookie isn't going to help them much at that position. It takes years to develop into a run stuffer unless that draft pick is a rare elite talent. You typically find those guys in the top 5 of a draft.

Unfortunately, the available talent at that position has dried up in terms of veterans. They would have to make a trade and it would probably be an expensive one for significant improvement.

They've done it before.
not recently, zuerlien they probably did, and he wasnt that good.
then back when bailey was hot they gave him more $ then he faded.

gould and succup are the 2 best and most consistent.
Maher is ok as he does have a long range and was consistent last year till that one game.

Wonder why they are so high on Watkins when no one else is.

Benton could help them.

They had a good kicker last year. I'm pretty sure that they can dig one up from somewhere before they play the first game.
sure they can, and if they lose some big games due to missed fg's, they you might wish they had got gould.

he signed with the cards. so it only takes one team.. was one of our better run stoppers so hope we find his replacement in the draft,.

but mahers been better then most being mentioned here ie near 90% on FGs the last 2 seasons, 87% for his career had one issue late basically one truly bad game but hes not cost us single game..hes a good fall back.

all this Gould talk, i have to be that poster, why did the niners let him go? why is he still available?:laugh:

They drafted a kicker last year then cut him before they ever gave him a real chance

Oh boy. That draft. Ugh.

I was happy to read this quote:

  • Earlier in the day, Jerry Jones said he views Terence Steele as a swing tackle for now. When asked to Stephen, he had a vague answer, stating "I think it's the five-best guys. At the end of the day. Mike's always preached that you know. It's early. We got a new offensive line coach. He gets them out there and gets his hands on em and sees what they can do. we'll figure out what are the best five guys and what makes us the best football team for 17 games plus hopefully the playoffs."
I don't think Jerry should be deciding who is starting where in March.

IMO think having Hankins and Watkins back to pair with Osa gives us an ok group of DTs. Not great by any means, but probably not a reason we are going to lose games.
IMO, you should never draft a player for special teams unless it's a returner.. Otherwise, draft a player for their potential at a position, who also maybe able to play special teams. But having a so-called special teams draft is foolish.
