So you are satisified with our current pass rushing group? That surprises me Dooms.

It might not come together early in the season, but I have a feeling that Demarcus Lawrence and Greg Hardy are going to bring the pain for Quarterbacks and they'll be an above average tandem and a force to be reckoned with by the time the season really gets rolling.

I can't wait to see how Lawrence picks up where he left off during the playoffs last year. With a full training camp, health willing, and a talent like Hardy on the other side, I see some big potential.

They have really loaded up against injury at LB. Lee, RoMc, Hitchens are the likely starters. Brinkley is a solid 2 down MLB. Gachkar is a big upgrade from guys like Cam Lawrence. Rivers is a really good player when healthy. Watson is a freak athlete that has starting experience and might be used occasionally if they really implement that Otto position (pass rushing SLB). Last year Wilber was 3rd from the bottom of the depth chart with Keith Smith and Cam Lawrence below him. This year it's appears doubtful that Wilber will even make the roster.

I still think they will want to do something with Carr's contract. The more talent they can add at CB, the more leverage they have. I think Corey White is better as a 3rd CB than Moore, but I don't know if it would be a good idea to have him as a top 2 CB on the team and full time starter. Patmon flashed, but is far from proven and he's small. Even if they are OK paying Carr this year, they need to develop a replacement because his salary is even higher next season.

The tenders are not guaranteed even if they sign them.

Anderson signed with somebody.

Hills has not re-signed.

I'm sure they are keeping Hawkins for TC. They carried him as a 4th OT on the 53 all season which indicates that like him quite a bit.

Weems appears to be in the lead as the swing OT. He was on IR last season and on the 53 for all of 2013.

Jack Crawford is under contract. He was better at DT than at DE and then got injured. He is one of a big number of players that will be competing for a job on DL.

I think Pellerin is gone.

They have set themselves up to be in perfect position to draft BPA. The goal should be to get another All-Pro regardless of position.

Having said that, I would lean towards CB and DE if all else if equal.

Adding some depth at Safety is a need. The #3 Safety is currently Jeff Heath unless they are planning to move Corey White to Safety but I don't think that is the plan, at least not this year.

I think they were covering their butts because we've been injury plagued at LB for years. They also weren't comfortable with the guys they had behind their solid LBs (Wilber, Lawrence, etc). Last year we had 5 solid LBs (granted McClain was added after the Lee injury and nobody expected Hitchens to do well) and we still had to rely a lot of of 6th-9th LBs. That's how injury plagued we were. And it was even worse the year before. At least now, we go into the season with three healthy and very talented LBs (Lee, McClain, Hitchens) and we have some guys we're confident in in case any of them go down (Rivers, Gachkar, Brinkley, maybe Watson).
