What is our biggest asset?

Tyron Smith
Dez Bryant
Dan Bailey
Tony Romo
Demarco Murray
Dwayne Harris
Travis Frederick
Sean Lee if healthy

Sadly, most of them are on offense, hopefully we can get some D this year.

Jason Garrett.

At least thats what Jerry would tell you.

Its also what a few Red _ fans would tell you as they see an immensely bright future on the horizon as they believe Jason is the 2nd coming of Tom Landry and building a long term dynasty type organization.

Most GM's in the league view QB, LT, and CB as the 'premium positions'. There is some discrepancy on the 3rd spot, some think it's CB, some WR, some ILB. Depends on the team's scheme and their overall philosophy.

Romo used to be, but now he's 32 with a questionable back.

So I have to go with Tyron, he's 21 and looks to be an anchor for our blind side for the next decade or so. It's not sexy, I know - but speaking in terms of value and a true asset, it's gotta be the big fella.

I dont think anyone really says ILB. Typically its qb, lt, edge rusher, cb, wr, and if you get the rare one: disruptive inside rusher.

Plenty of talk on these forums are about what our weaknesses are and how we can remedy them, I figured a more optimistic discussion of what our biggest asset as a team is. What do y'all think?

Are you working on another trade Witten Player X thread?

Tyron is the greatest asset, but Dez may fetch the best compensation reward on the trade market.

Tyron Smith due to position, age,and current salary. I would imagine if you took quarterbacks out of the question, Tyron would be in the top 10 most valuable in the league. Probably top 5.

Jason Garrett.

This is a weird, intentional, misreading of anything I've ever seen posted here at CZ re: Jason Garrett.

I'd say we have two big assets.

1) A franchise QB. There are only a couple of handfuls of those in the league and the Cowboys have one. Thank you, Bill Parcells.

2) The Cowboys' mystique. Players want to play here. Coaches want to coach here. Despite the Cowboys now being a dead, rotten franchise. People still see it as the big stage even though it's the last place you want to be if you want to win in this league.

I'd probably agree with the consensus that it is Tyron Smith given age, position and his dominance. Conceivably he could play here at a very high level for the next dozen years.
