Drug a 3-13 or 4-12 team--one with the worst defense in Dallas history (32nd ranked)-- kicking and screaming to 8-7 and on the brink of the playoffs.
Game-winning drive in game 15 to help beat the Skins and put them in position....but also with the herniated disc.
Then the team lost to the eagles in game 16 with Orton..
Yes, Romo was good.

Those 8-8 teams were horrible.
Romo played his part in those 8-8 seasons, some of it he was good, and some of it he was bad.
Who do you blame for the 2009 playoffs,?? the defense, the coach, the line?
you can always blame others but not Romo, but Romo has been a factor in pretty much every lost game he played in.
Tony is up and down, he may play great 2 games in a row, then has a down game and so forth, he lost 2 of the 8-8 win or go home
games himself.
He also seems to have a lot of bad luck, like a ball bouncing off wittens foot, right into def players hands.
Tony is a "almost" guy, he almost beat GB in 2014, almost beat giants in 2007, almost beat giants in 2011, almost made playoffs 3 years in a row,
with the 8-8 seasons.
The thing is Tony has been the life of our offense for 10 years, and we had no other good qb except briefly kitna.
Tony has had no competition, he has been king of the hill for so long, he is now pampered and idolized.

It is unlikely Tony will lead this team all the way to a SB this year, Somewhere in the playoffs , they will lose.
But it is possible, I cant honestly say it is impossible, just not very likely.

Well Dallas won in the 2009 playoffs and then got massacred at Minnesota.
You can't possibly put that game on Romo--who got beaten to a bloody pulp.
A better Tom Brady could have QB'd dallas in that game...he wouldn't have lasted one half.

Needed back surgery...decides to finish the game anyhow

So tony is responsible for losses and 8-8 but 11-5 and 12-4, meh, accident.

Not saying any were ALL tonys fault, but he played his part in them , including that minn game.

my basic point is the Romo formula for playing and throwing deep and holding ball trying to make plays, is
not consistent and can be shut down by good defense.
Before 2014 it was on JG and coach jerry for throwing way too much.

With the coaches we have, and the defense etc, the dak formula looks better and way more consistent to me.

I didnt say that lol you did.
I said he always "almost" gets in playoffs, or "almost" wins in playoffs.
The 2014 year was Tonys best year since 2007, because of murray, and JG finally started running more and not passing 45 times
a game.
They let murray go, and Tony did not look good in 2015.
He almost didnt play last year, and now people think he can step in and be like he was in 2014, and just imo I dont think he can.

Going 11-5 or 12-4 doesnt mean a lot if you cant get past the div round.
In 10 years Tony has never got past the div round. neither has JG. or linehan.

Ya, JG sucks and so has the team for the most part. If you're going to blame tony for all of that, might as well drag witten in and tell us how he sucks too and its his fault.

I am not saying that ! you are!
I just said they cant get past the div round, 2-3 times they made it to that round, then get beat.

A shocker is that Alex Smith went 312 attempts without a pick. 3rd all-time.

What's amazing about the Brady and Rodgers streaks are that they include a ton of TDs passes. WAY more difficult to press the issue in the endzone and still not get picked.
I don't have the number, but my guess is that Alex Smith didn't have near the TDs that they had.
Brady and Rodgers get a LOT of their touchdowns by throwing it in the red zone on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down compared to the Cowboys running it on 1st and 2nd, then deciding to take one last shot through the air.
