Exactly. 4 win team and good chance we get best QB next year in the draft. Beats another gut wrenching 8-8 season.

Exactly.

In the NFL... 4-12 is much better than 8-8.

Dump Romo = progress.

If 8-8 is gut wrenching, you're a pretty spoiled fan. :laugh2:

You got that correct 8-8 is getting old but many on this bored are OK with 8-8 and being stuck with no money cause they want to pay players that cant get it done. I wish they trade everybody and take the hit now and get cap fixed and try again. Its not like anyone is getting younger I Love the Cowboys just hope to c another great run like in the 90s.

And before anyone says would you rather have a 4 win season ill answer the question now a 4-12 season or 8-8 same thing to me the big diff is 8-8 = no money and middle of the rd draft pick and 4-12 means we have some coin to upgrade players and have better draft pics. Ill take 4-12 mixed with hope just like when Jimmy took over he was changing players so fast i couldn't even keep up but the end results made me smile every Sun now its like the movie ground hog day same **** diff day :bang2:

Yeah, let's trade the one person who's the main reason we're even relevant anymore and actually manages to win us games. Oh, wait... people actually want to be 4-12 and 5-11 on here so I guess trading Romo would appease this fanbase.

Bandwagon fans popping up like flies in here. Trying to think what kind of loser in real life one must be, to even suggest tanking. Not a pretty picture.

Like I told someone else, all you bandwagon tankers just send me your email and take a long break. I'll email you when we win the Super Bowl, and you can wash away all the horrible 8-8 suffering you once endured.

As least at 4-12, we can finally draft a decent QB the next year. I would rather lose all the games than be mediocre at 8-8 or 6-10 every year.

WOW lets mortgage the house for another 5yrs of 8-8 and being in cap hell awesome great idea. Try not to confuse relevant with being the joke of the NFL. Once again peoples standards of 8-8 for 4 yrs makes them feel relevant it is so sad how peoples standards are so low these day.

If you're going to take a lazy, unintelligent, bottom-line approach, what's the difference between the 49ers and the Chiefs? 31 out of 32 teams failed to reach their objective so why would any of them continue down a path that clearly isn't working?

Well this is my objectives for the Cowboys for the season, 1. win the East (or wildcard), 2. win a playoff game, 3. make it to the NFC Championship Game, 4. make it to the Super Bowl, 5. win a Super Bowl.

If this team would have got to number 3 then it would have been deemed a successful season in my opinion.

The 49ers got to 4, which in no way can be compared to the Chiefs who didn't even accomplish 1. The Cowboys and the Chiefs 2012 season had he same results (neither made playoffs) only the Chiefs are picking higher in the draft.

The bottom line approach is what all teams should look at.

 The difference between a 4 win team and an 8 win team is the 4 win team needs a ton of extra pieces to even be relevant and likely doesn't have a QB...

What was Jon Kitna's record as a starter here?

We're the joke of the NFL because of Jerry Jones and our pathetic fanbase.

I saw a book the other day titled, "Been down so long that it looks like up to me." That's kinda where some of our fan base is nowadays.

Standards? On being a football fan? Now who sounds stupid? I turn on my TV or go to the stadium, I root like hell and try to enjoy the game. It's laughable that you feel like you're entitled to some "finer football in life" by being a beer gut fan sitting on your couch. Grow up.

Let me correct you we are a joke cause Jerry and most of our fans thinks its a good move to sign Romo to a 17-20 mil a yr and Spencer to a 8-10 mil a yr and have our cap maxed out for a 8-8 team deal:banghead:

I've stated this so many times on this forum... I'm a young Cowboys fan, I'm 26 years old so I did not witness the glory and the greatness of the 90s. I was too young. All I've seen is average, average and more average and it baffles me when people accuse me of being fine with average when that's all I've ever witnessed. I'm supposed to have high expectations for this team because of what my father and grandfather witnessed back in the day and because I've seen old games on Youtube? I've grown up in an average Dallas Cowboys era and that's how it'll stay for me until they prove otherwise... this is an average team and thinking this team can win a Super Bowl is laughable to me because I seen nothing that can prove that statement wrong for me.

Romo and Spencer help us win right now and that's why their gonna get signed to long term extensions. Sure, young rookies may help us in the future, but their not gonna help us win right now. And seeing as most people on this forum are extremely desperate for success right now, I don't see how anyone can be fine with that. The window for the Cowboys veterans is closing and Romo and Spencer are key figures for us to win and have success right now.

I agree to a point if it was 3-5yrs ago i be all for it but they are all near 30 or over (talking about our core players)so by the time you get the other parts they will be on a decline and we be still 8-8. Now we have a new group of core players (Lee,Carter,Smith,Carr, etc) just think we should build around them so in the next couple years we can make a run being broke and trying the same things just gonna end the same 8-8.

So many fans and posters constantly whine about Cowboys front office's failures in the past drafts (and rightly so) and yet, most of that same people are now trusting front office to select a franchise QB? Since Aikman, what QB have Cowboys drafted who was worth anything?
