What is the incentive to win Sunday?

Is there any real reason to win this Sunday, other than having an NFC East crown? There are no trophies for winning the East.

I'm not saying that we will tank the game, but why would we want to win to force a back to back game with Philly? It would almost be better to face the reeling Vikings.

IMO, the Cowboys play better on the road anyways, so I'm not buying the home game argument. I'm not convinced that we have a true home field advantage.

FWIW, I don't believe that we would beat Philly in a playoff rematch. Beating the same team back to back is very difficult, let alone beating the same team 3 times in a season.

I think it is an incentive to go out and beat Philly one it does give us home it also helps put confidence on our side and some doubt in the minds of Philly. I keep hearing it is hard to win back to back vs the same team yet I don't see how losing the 1st game makes it any easier to win especially in the cold and cruddy weather of Philly.

Also I think the chance at the 2 seed is very much alive with Minn and NY facing off as well as the Pack and Cards playing. A NY win along with a Packer win and the door is open for a bye

The incentive is there would be an outside shot at hosting the NFC Championship game, in addition to at least hosting a game the first weekend of the playoffs.

Playing @ home in the 1st round is huge and if the Vikings lose and we win we could possibly get the 2 seed or play Green Bay @ home.

If the Cowboys wanted to though they could just rest their players this week and play @ our home away from home next week.

I want to win for the simple fact I don't want Philly to get a home playoff game and a bye.

I also don't want Favre to get any rest either.

BYE WEEK....possible home field advantage THROUGHOUT playoffs if Saints keep playing like they have been lately.

Uhhhhh ya, you want to WIN!!!

....all of above.....and go into playoffs on a hot streak, Peak at the right time of year and all those cliches...

but they do hold true

Holy mackerel, really?

Let's start with the NFC East crown. There is no trophy, but it matters.

How about a home playoff game? Is that preferable to playing on the road? I think so.

We are still eligible to be a #2 seed and potentially have a 1st round bye. Then if the Saints faltered and we won, the NFC Championship would be in our house. Is that worth playing for? I think so.

How about a season sweep of the Eagles?

How about momentum going into the playoffs?

How about not wasting the last 2 games?

What are we playing for? Everything.

One last thing being able to prevent the media from starting up with Dallas can't win in Jan. :laugh2:

No. Arizona has to lose this week against GB as well for us to get a bye.

Vikes lose
Arizona lose

Dallas win

we get a bye

But if the Vikings lose than I dont think there is any way we play Philly in round 1 win or lose.

what are you, clueless!!! Possible second seed, and a first round bye and a home game, or winning and finishing third, hosting a wildcard game, but you would prefer to play on the road.....talk about nonsense!!!!

Stop the flaming. 2nd seed requires 3 things lining up right, and isn't likely. Again, we have played flat at home many times this year. This team plays better on the road.
