What is the incentive to win Sunday?

Stop the flaming. 2nd seed requires 3 things lining up right, and isn't likely. Again, we have played flat at home many times this year. This team plays better on the road.

He wasn't flaming, just responding to a stupid post.

The incentive??? Duhhhhh,it's "Filthy Philly"! It's winning the East! It's pay back time for what happened in last year's final game!! Hellloooo?

How about not giving Philly the 2 seed. I don't know about yall but I don't wanna go to cold *** Philly in January. But that requires winning a playoff game. lol

Holy mackerel, really?

Let's start with the NFC East crown. There is no trophy, but it matters.

How about a home playoff game? Is that preferable to playing on the road? I think so.

We are still eligible to be a #2 seed and potentially have a 1st round bye. Then if the Saints faltered and we won, the NFC Championship would be in our house. Is that worth playing for? I think so.

How about a season sweep of the Eagles?

How about momentum going into the playoffs?

How about not wasting the last 2 games?

What are we playing for? Everything.

I thought for sure he was joking.

If we lose, Philly gets the #2 seed and a bye. We get the #6 seed.

I don't care much for strategic losing. I don't think you play this game being afraid of any opponent. If you want to be the best you have to beat the best. A lot of folks seem nervous about Philly but I see them as the bully on the block. You can't keep going the long way to school (so to speak) to try to avoid them because sooner or later you will have to face them. I say let's win out and deal with whoever comes our way. I think it would be a tremendous boon to the Cowboys if they faced the dreaded scenario of 3 games against Philly and beat them all 3. I want them to be afraid of facing us.

I want us to win, but I have to admit that if we lose it won't break my heart. We're in right now, and our two best wins this year have been on the road.

I think that more than anything, I want to win so the Eagles can't get the #2 seed. I don't want them winning the NFC.

BYE WEEK....possible home field advantage THROUGHOUT playoffs if Saints keep playing like they have been lately.

Uhhhhh ya, you want to WIN!!!

I also think that momentum is so HUGE when going into the playoffs. We are playing pretty darn well right now so I don't want to take any time off and mess that up. Keep rollin. They can rest in February!

They are a threat regardless of what their seed is, but honestly I dont think they will win the NFC. They are too one dimensional IMO and rely too much on big plays. Take it away, and they are just another above average team.

Is there any real reason to win this Sunday, other than having an NFC East crown? There are no trophies for winning the East.

I'm not saying that we will tank the game, but why would we want to win to force a back to back game with Philly? It would almost be better to face the reeling Vikings.

IMO, the Cowboys play better on the road anyways, so I'm not buying the home game argument. I'm not convinced that we have a true home field advantage.

FWIW, I don't believe that we would beat Philly in a playoff rematch. Beating the same team back to back is very difficult, let alone beating the same team 3 times in a season.

because you play every game to win. you tell the team some games are not that important then they'll start decided if any given game is important to them.

i think indy screwed up at going for the prefect season. those are rare and hard earned and to take it away from them as even possible i believe to be demoralizing.

If the Vikes win that early game, we will KNOW ahead of time that if we lose to Philly, this would be our playoff road:
@ Min
@ NO
@ Phi or GB (or theoretically Az)

I think we play to win, no matter what.

How about getting the chance to stomp the Eagles skull flat two games in a row? It definately is balls out time. I think the players will grab this chance by the throat while it's at arms length. There are a few that remember the Seattle game. Not the end of the world if we lose, but we won't. Book it.

Exactly, I do not understand the premise of this thread.

Dallas has everything to play for still, if Zona losses and the Vikes lose vs the Gnats then Dallas will win the BYE week and Homefield with a triumph vs Philthy.

Maybe so, but no one seems to be able to take away those big plays (except us the first time we played them). And more importantly, every other NFC team is flawed, too, and has less momentum than the Eagles have.

Don't forget, we'll know before the game or early first quarter whether or not we still have a shot at the bye.
