If he does not go to jail and gets probation...

What is his likely term of his suspension?

Regardless I don't think he plays another snap with a star on his helmet

as good of a player as he was becpminh . I hope he doesn't play again for the Cowboys. It would literally makes us the trash of the NFL. there's tons of other players that would love the opportunity he has and football means WAY more to them than it did to him.

With the media/fan scrutiny, it would be better for both him and the Cowboys if he played for another team.

He is not a great fit on Kiffin's defense anyway.

I don't think any one called the Ravens, Patriots or Commanders trash for letting Donte Stallworth suit up on their teams. So they shouldn't if Dallas brought back Brent.

That being said, I'm sure the media BS over it would be ridiculous.

I think it all depends on what kind of sentence he receives. If the family continues to support him a prosecutor and juror is going to have a problem with a harsh sentence. It won't surprise me for him to get a 3-5 year sentence nor will I be surprised if he gets probation and community service.

I think we went over this before but if this is his first offense with substance abuse then I don't think he can be suspended. However, he could already have one and we might not know about it as I don't think they are made public. But the commish could suspend him for conduct detrimental to the league. The Cowboys may have language in his contract that could leave a team suspension open for discussion.

I'd be very very surprised if he hasn't been somewhere for evaluation of his alcohol abuse with professional recommendations that the judge and prosecutor will accept even if they don't follow it. If he can convince those following him in an outpatient program that he's taking this seriously then that will go a long way with most judges. And at this point his substance abuse counselors will be hard to please.

I just saw two recent Tarrant County cases that were double vehicular manslaughter. They got 10 years probation. That is the same jurisdiction.

I think killing 2 people outweighs that. Who knows maybe your vengeance will be fulfilled.

I do like the guy although I freely admit he makes horrible decisions when he is intoxicated.

Once he serves his punishment I would be fine with him returning to the Cowboys. I don't know if the NFL would give him extra punishment above what the legal system decides.

I think he would make a really good 1-tech in Kiffen's system. It is hard to find a player with his motor and ability to take on double teams. I really thought he was becoming one of the better NTs in the NFL this past season and would much rather have him than Ratliff on the team at this point in time.

Given how supportive the Cowboys organization has been thus far through his ordeal I think he will be welcomed home with open arms as well as a regimented system to help him stay on the up and up.

Regardless, I wish best of luck to Brent and the Brown family in their grieving and recovery.

^ this.

I'd go one step further and say that the guilt of having to live with oneself after killing one of your friends is likely more painful than anything the legal system could inflict on him.

I hope that, once his punishment is meted out in the eyes of the law, Brent can come back and play for the cowboys. His star is pointing up, and I think it likely he's a better man after what he's been through.

so when did justice become vengeance?

He willfully drank and drove and killed a person. Yet some here think that is nothing.

The NFL suspended Stallworth for the entire 2009 season without pay. Upon being re-instated the Browns did the absolutely right thing and cut him.

I'd expect the NFL to do nothing less to Brent and when his suspension is over I expect the Cowboys to do nothing less than cut him.

Brent has already been busted for drunk driving twice in 4 years -- one of those times killing a teammate.

Is that really the guy you want to give a 3rd chance? Is the organization willing to take that risk?
